They make a great hotdog. They have Nathan’s hot dogs which are absolutely fantastic! Friendly staff, fast service. Worth a visit even if the prices are a little nuts.

just as a FYI this store is closed down. Can't say I would recommend the owner Eric as a trainer. He has a short temper and I don't agree w/ his methods.

I have been purchasing raw pet food from Eric for a couple of years and found Eric to be very knowledgeable and his store has a nice variety of raw diets and nutritional supplements. Every time I visit the store, I am impressed by how well behaved his dogs are, and the ones that he is working on. As a dog enthusiast myself who used to work dogs in high level competition (Schutzhund, French Ring, CKC OB), I would let Eric train my dogs any day. Eric's dogs are always calm, social, and well-balanced, which is a testament to his training. If Eric utilized abusive techniques as suggested in some of the reviews, that would be reflected in the dog's disposition. The challenge to dog training is consistency and even though Eric may get a dog started, it is up to the owner to continue the training. I have met a number of dogs trained by Eric who's owners adhered to his instructions who are wonderful dogs. At the same time, I have met a number of dogs Eric trained and boarded, who were well balanced, yet I see them a few weeks later back to their unruly and nervous selves because their owners failed to follow-through. I recognize that Eric may be a bit harsh at times to owners, which does not make him a good businessman; however, like many great dog trainers, his interest is in training the dog, not stroking the owner's ego. I would much rather learn from an instructor like Eric who is brutally honest with me than one who tells me what I want to hear.

I used to come here semi-regularly, because I lived nearby. The owner was a bit pushy about his raw food philosophy (and product), but he was nice enough. I went there today. The owner was in a different part of the store and didn't hear me come in. He was speaking with a customer who was apparently a tourist. The owner: "Don't base your opinion of Toronto on this neighbourhood. It's one of the worst f***ing neighbourhoods in the city. People don't even say hi to you on the street." I promptly walked out of the store, never to return. Buddy, if you're going to run a small neighbourhood business, it's not a good idea to badmouth your neighbours in public, no matter how you feel.

On a visit from England and met Eric while visiting. He was very helpful and welcoming, I've not yet met anyone who knows more about pet food. We ended up spending well over an hour in his store and he really knew everything there is to know about pet food. An incredibly nice guy selling fantastic food. Definitely worth a visit when your in Toronto. You won't go anywhere else for your pet food again!

I was looking through pet stores downtown and came across The Dog House. I remember when it was situated on Queen St. E.in Leslieville. I had a standard poodle, and as a new owner was anxious to find the best training programme in the area. Eric was recommended, but after spending a fair amount of money on his classes, I was less than impressed. His philosophies then and now, sound very convincing. In reality, however, he had a very different approach to discipline. I met several walkers at Cherry Beach who had similar stories to tell. Eric was full of himself, and, I suspect, a bit of a bully with a dog that didn't respond, such as mine. Quite frankly, I am surprised that he is still in business. And, yes, Renata, he could be "terribly rude" . I guess he wasn't interested once he realized you were not there to buy.

I'm going through one of the hardest moments of my life: my nine-year-old cat, who's living with my mom in Brazil, has kidney failure, and is going to die sooner or later, specially because my mom can't find his medication where she lives. Knowing that the owner of this pet store has very old cats, I went there yesterday and explained my situation, and asked him a very simple favour: the contact of his veterinarian. He was terribly rude and told me to look at the yellow pages, because "there are plenty of good veterinarians in Toronto". I explained the situation again, asked him to please help because my cat is going to die and I'm suffering, and he said that if I can't find the medication my cat has been prescribed, I should look for another veterinarian in Brazil who prescribes something my mom can find. I left the store in tears. I was already sad and I didn't really need someone to treat me this way. I hope HE dies from kidney failure just to feel what my kitty is feeling right now. A man without feelings shouldn't be allowed to deal with pets.

Forget the grooming because they forget you! I booked an appointment with The Dog House for a groom for my pooch Willy. They only have appointments at 9am so I took the morning off work. I spent 30 minutes milling around the front of the store with no luck. I attempted to call and was only able to leave a voice mail. Not a call back or anything. Nice eh? I have been a loyal customer since they opened and this was my first attempt at grooming. Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere for all my pet supplies and services.
