The Dorset gets bonus points for its atmosphere and vibe, but wish the food was better than just ok.
- Fish and Chips: Batter was a bit too thick, though appreciate it wasn't overly oily or greasy. Haddock itself tasted ok. Liked how they gave a curry sauce dipping option.
- Wiltshire Pork Chop: Pretty good flavour but on the dry side. Added a side of fries which were a bit overdone.
- Chocolate Stout and Coffee Cake: Best dish of the meal, with its delicate layers and smooth consistency.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: Too creamy and sweet without depth.

Service was fine. Kitchen timing was reasonable. Space was expansive and good for groups.

Nice atmosphere but the rest was quite underwhelming. We went for dinner at 8:15pm on a Friday night. The service was painfully slow (3/5) which led to our food being under the heat lamp probably causing it to overcook. The steak back well-done (ordered medium-well), and the pork chop was quite dry. Chicken liver pate for starters was actually quite delicious (Overall food score 3/5). Cocktail was very good 4/5.

Lovely waiters and staff. Unfortunately our Arctic char was over cooked, dried out and worse of all, tasteless. The meat pie/bone marrow for 2, was very heavy and little taste; the potatoes were OK, but the carrots were half cooked and chewy. The duck Scotch eggs were cold and tasteless, and the lasagna was cold, super thick, gooey and.again no taste. The best part of the meal were the oysters and the toffee pudding desert.
Way over priced, bland and even by British standards....cold. Will not be making a return trip for sure.

Very modern take on British food. This up-scale restaurant was a great stop during winterlicous.

Awesome food! Really great vibe. Friendly staff. Service was a little slow but if you aren’t in a rush (we weren’t), it’s great!

Have enjoyed having brunch at The Dorset. The atmosphere is lovely, with a great deal of art, and it is beautifully decorated.
Enjoyed the lower level more; the upper level looked fun, but it was next to the open kitchen, which had a strong smell.

The food was great, with good, moderate portions that you prob will not be taking to go.

Service is fantastic, and the staff are well-dressed and uniformed. Beers and drinks menue has variety.

Would come again.

Recently visited The Dorset and had a genuinely enjoyable experience on valentine’s night. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between cozy and stylish, making it suitable for small celebrations. The interior feels warm and welcoming.

The cocktail was absolutely top-tier. Perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and beautifully presented. You can tell real care went into both the flavor and the presentation.

Came here for Valentine’s date night, we were sat in the corner and our service from one particular waiter was incredible, he was wearing a white polo shirt with short sleeves (sorry I don’t know his name) bravo to him, he is a HUGE asset to THE DORSET. He was so attentive and always offered to change drinks, food etc.

Unfortunately, there are a few inconveniences and let downs that happened throughout our night. We decided to do the prix fixe menu and ordered steaks for our entree. My partner ordered medium rare and I ordered medium. When the steaks came, it was a different server that served it to us, and when he put our food down he said mine was medium. But, he actually gave me the medium rare. My partner and I had to exchange plates, which is not a big deal, but a slight inconvenience. We couldn’t see the steak because it was dark, so we didn’t realize until halfway through.

Secondly, my partner had planned to ask me to be his girlfriend, and he talked to the staff beforehand and asked for a note on my dessert plate. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding, and my partner ordered the profiteroles. My partner SPECIFICALLY mentioned to the staff to put the note on the sticky toffee pudding but the dessert arrived with no note. It happened to be the same server who delivered the steaks incorrectly. Luckily, our original server came quickly and delivered the note on the side. It was very uncoordinated and my partner made it clear with the staff beforehand how he wanted it to go.

This was a very special moment and it felt like a letdown due to the uncoordinated service. My partner is also British, which is why he chose this restaurant, but he mentioned this is not to standard.

We enjoyed the tuna tartare and the chips, but unfortunately everything else was mediocre or a let down. We will not be returning to this place

I recently visited The Dorset and tried their late-night menu - what a treat! We had the prawn toast, oysters, and even enjoyed a half-priced bottle of Prosecco. The service was excellent and incredibly attentive, and the manager, Andrew, was an absolute pleasure. Overall, a lovely experience and I’ll definitely be back!

Phenomenal dinner experience, had the Sunday roast dinner, and my family had the steak, fish and chips, and the burger. We shared two desserts (crumble and sticky toffee pudding).

The server Sam was phenomenal, she was attentive and a great example of outstanding hospitality. Will be coming back in the future !
