Hit this place up every so often and it’s usually great. Had the Cubano last time I went and it was terrible. Soggy bread and bland pork, steer clear of it and order something else.

Loved! Such a delicious brunch. Seated quickly. Great wait service. I will be thinking about that roasted squash omelet and sourdough bread forever now.

Had a fantastic brunch here. Very accommodating for vegetarians. The roasted squash omelette is genuinely the best omelette I’ve had. Highly recommend.

The food is fine, everybody is nice, but it took 45 minutes for the food. Which wouldn’t be a problem but other people got theirs first even though arriving later than me. Probably would be better to dine inside (more attentive service) but the patio smelt like garbage

Had the breakfast burrito (with beef). I got emotional as to how good it was. Not even kidding.

Live in New York and never ate a smash burger and a burrito like that! The best ever.

Been in the 'hood for years, like the regular menu but it's become to hip anymore. The heavily tatted and pierced staff crank the music up so no one can have a conversation anymore. Why?! I was there with my wife for a lunch and we could hardly hear or talk over the music playing. Me and a guy from work also went and was the same, couldn't even talk over lunch.
And the fans above us constant regardless of the season! who runs fans in the winter? It's already cold in there.

The food is consistent, reliable. It's not fine dining, it's a neighbourhood spot. Prices aren't cheap but they're not really expensive either. I think they just need to recalibrate the dining experience back to the customer vs. the staff's playlist and volume.

We loved the funky vibes of the tiny place and cool staff. We chose the place for the ratings and the early hours. We’ll return for the food and coffee (all day breakfast). My grilled cheese was perfectly decadent. Eggs Benedict were a hit. Real maple syrup with the waffles. Then it was fun to stroll up and down the street with interesting shops.

The concept seems simple , but so many in Toronto miss the mark. The Federal is Great food , nice vibes , low key friendly service and busy for a reason atmosphere . My scrambled eggs with a delicious sausage were great . Drooled over my friends burger and everything else looked great . Keep it up ..

Amazing brunch

Great brunch spot. The burger was amazing! They don’t take reservations but can put your name in. It was a 40 min wait.

Every thing was ok. The servers were nice and we had a nice time overall up until when we were suddenly asked if the services had any problems as we didn’t leave any tips upon paying with card. We were out of words!!
We were still seated, chatting with our friend and the intention was to pay tips on cash when we we were about to leave.PUBLIC SHAMING and asking very loudly in front of everyone and our guest ruined our vibe and the good memory we could have had there!!

From the moment you step inside, the refined décor and warm lighting create an inviting atmosphere. The service is outstanding—attentive yet discreet, ensuring a seamless dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable, offering excellent wine pairings and insightful recommendations.
The menu is a delightful mix of modern and traditional flavors, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish is beautifully plated, resembling a work of art. Standout dishes include the lobster risotto, which is creamy and rich, and the filet mignon, cooked to perfection. Desserts, like the chocolate fondant, provide the perfect sweet ending to the meal.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade, and it’s easily in my top three brunch spots in the city. The Eggs Federal with bacon AND kale is my go-to—the mushroom cream sauce over perfectly poached eggs is divine, and the potato hash and salad balance the dish beautifully. Their freshly baked scones are a must-try, and today’s warm blueberry scone with clotted cream and jam was absolute perfection! My friend had the grilled cheese and didn’t put it down until it was all devoured. Love the rustic vibe of the place and staff is so great!
