Relax And Enjoy The Journey

Thought this place would have hit the spot, unfortunately it was a disappointment. Paid $15 for king fish which was three small pieces and tasted dry. And over sized festivals, after explaining that I really preferred more protein instead. Instead of explaining how the food was going to come, she was more interested in taking my money. I should have went to Tacos Locos across the street instead. Will not be returning.

Worst customer service and food! Went into the establishment the lady behind the counter wasn’t that friendly. I ended up buying their spicy chicken roti, which they changed me 1$+ to make it spicy and you could barely taste any “spice” , infact the roti was extremely salty! The chicken inside the roti was mushy and resembled the taste and consistency of tuna. If I could I’d rate my experience a 0/10. Highly do not recommend .

So far I've lived downtown for 2 years and best jerk chicken dinner to be found. Large portions and delicious

I had a craving for jerk and stopped by The Jerk Spot in Kensington Market. It’s a tiny takeout-focused spot with just a couple of window seats. I tried the chicken with rice and peas, topped with jerk gravy—the portion was good, and it satisfied my craving, but it didn’t blow me away. The shop could use a bit of a refresh, but it’s clearly a popular neighborhood staple. That said, I’m ready to explore other jerk spots in the area!

DO NOT ORDER FROM ‘TOO GOOD TO GO’ app unless you want food poisoning. You will waste your money purchasing rotten food scraps. It looks like they scooped what they gave me right out of the garbage. NO JOKE. Bare bones/chunks of fat. So gross.

When i first got there- I told the women I was excited to try their food as I’ve never been there before. She was rude/barely acknowledged me.

I have no clue why a business would represent themselves this way. Selling garbage is not a good look.

I have no clue why but tried to eat a bite.. and it made me gag. I threw it immediately into the garbage.

Very bad experience and very rude from the restaurant. I ordered food from an app called Too good to go. I got rice and chicken. The chicken was spoilt and the rice was way too old. These type of food(expired/rotten) should be thrown away but they sell that to customers. I had to purchase and the throw away the food completely. Be careful to avoid falling sick eating here.

The Jerk Spot they closed at 7 we got there about 630. Got oxtails, rice, peas and jerk chicken. The food was ok. The chicken was dry and the oxtails were cut to thin slices. Prices were affordable but I’ll rather gotten cabbage or mixed vegetables then coleslaw. Not a lot of oxtails and they were thinly cut. Customer service could’ve been more welcoming.

I ordered, from here from the to good to go app, I call the store coz I was running 2 mins late and the lady that answered said ok. I got there, and I can see her packing the order, but she refused to open the door and give it to me. I had already paid online.

Yummmm. I had the ox tail with rice and peas. It was so good. Meat was tender, sauce nice and spicy. The rice was also cooked to perfection - fluffy and seasoned nicely too. Lovely owners.

The best oxtail ever!!!!

All I wanted was a spicy beef patty. However, it was really bland and wasn't spicy. On second inspection, it seems as if they aren't making their own patties but rather reheating commercially available patties.

This is most unfortunate. They pale in comparison to the patties available at Golden Patty just around the corner. Alas, this is not the place in Kensington to get patties.

Avoid this place. $20 for a meal where the chicken smelled and tasted BOILED and DRY. No flavor whatsoever. Even the rice and peas was bland with a horrible sticky flavorless "gravy". Ended up just throwing the whole thing in the garbage. AVOID!!!!!
