Excellent appetizers. Excellent service once you’ve been seated, and top notch entertainment on music and theme nights.Great date spot, or for brunch.Cocktails are on the sweet side. Avoid the “Canadian Fries”.

Exceptional food and service. I had the steak frites. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. It was banal compared to other offerings on the menu. The other guests at my table were very impressed by the Drake Burger which was much cheaper than the steak and everyone agreed it was the best burger they ever had. The Bone-In Shnitzel was also very well recieved. We had sushi as an appetizer and I was thoroughly impressed by the explosion of flavor in the Spicy Saké Maki.Service staff were friendly, professional, and highly attentive to our needs. Some of the meals here can be very expensive, but you'll get what you paid for.

We just returned from a quick trip to Toronto and The Drake Hotel was one of the reasons we can call it a fabulous experience. I'm not sure we've ever stayed in a hotel where every single staff member was so helpful, cheerful, and accommodating. It all started with Natalie at the desk, who we called en route to get specific info about parking. She handled that question masterfully and we were delighted to meet her in person at check-in. Every business should have someone like Natalie, who so obviously cares about customers and shows it in every way. She's smart, articulate, and uber-professional -- a five-star employee. Our server at the restaurant also earned five stars. I wish I would have noted her name because she deserves high praise as well for her outstanding service, awesome personality, and great sense of humor. The hotel is very boutique and very charming. Restaurant food was excellent and the place is super clean. Just one piece of advice if you stay there. A couple of rooms are almost claustrophobically small. But the fact that we stayed in one of them -- the Crash Pad (I guess the Nook is even smaller) -- and still wrote this 5-star review says a lot about how the many advantages of The Drake far outweigh the minor inconvenience of having to kind of shuffle around the bed for lack of walking space. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

We came here this past weekend for a pre-wedding celebration at a Drag Brunch. It was bomb dot com. Highly recommend.FOOD:This spot is a nice brunch with all of the usual suspects. It is prix fixe and it really wholesome overall. We started out with some scones and butter, all of which were done as you would expect. For the main, I had a benny. Though not the best in terms of presentation, it was very tasty. The highlight on the plate was the spiced baked potatoes. Yummm!DRINKS:We ordered a bottle of prosecco for the table with some grapefruit and orange juice. It is a bit of choose your own destiny, but overall, was a great experience.SERVICE:Let me tell you, the service was impeccable and well-deserving of the 20% gratuity included in the bill. They were on time, attentive, and friendly in the human way. Loved the support we have received throughout the brunch!ATMO:Let's just say, the room was filled with love. Engagements, bachelorettes, birthdays. Amazing Drag Queens and Miss Coco as a host. It is a positive environment where everyone participates and has a lot of fun. Coming back again soon.Shall we say, Yas kween?

this will be the best hotel you ever stayed in. they really nailed everything, i don’t even know where to begin. you get way more than you do at your average modern hotel. for example, they use top tier malin & goetz shampoo soap and conditioner, a tablet for an alarm clock, same day laundry, and so much more. you’ll melt into the bathrobes. they use good linen on the bedding, not those sandpaper you’ll find in every other hotel. the art is on another level. the hotel and the rooms are covered in beautiful murals and paintings. theres a bar and they actually play good music. its not some moron with a playlist, they have a really great curator/dj. as a matter of fact, the entire staff is great and have been super useful. good vibes all around. Nikola got me checked in quickly and had a ton of useful info about the area. i’ve been traveling the continent for about a month now, and this is easily my favorite hotel thus far. i usually don’t spend more than a single night in one place but i’ll gladly break that rule for the drake!

I can't say enough about what a great place this is. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Julia was fantastic and made sure we had our late arrival taken care of. If you're there on a weekend the Drag Buffet is a must.

Lovely hidden place, super funky room with loaded fridge with drinks and snacks. Bed was super comfy and the design of the room amazing. Room equipped with everything you could need. The staff were friendly offering advice for best places to visit. Would recommend.

Staid hotel. Room is closet-sized. Nothing worked. The tablet they provided to order room service didn't work. The number they provided to text for room service also didn't work and nobody responds. I had to call to order late night dessert, which was not very good. In fact, the food at The Drake is overall not mediocre, but I this came as no surprise to me, having lived in Toronto. The next morning at about 10 am while I was out, I finally got a response to my text from the previous night asking for cake saying they would send that immediately. You'd think they'd check the time stamp. The lighting on the magnifying mirror didn't work. No coffee or tea in room. The "daily fresh baked goods" are not fresh. I had a croissant and it was so stale, it tasted 3 days old. They never had scones available despite these being a "Drake Classic" on their menu. Service is meh. I only ever saw one staff member there at any time of the day. The bedding is cheap and uncomfortable. The hotel is overpriced for what you get The amenities and service are on par with a motel (and I do mean a motel as even a Holiday Inn would offer in room coffee or tea). The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the location is great if you are in the Parkdale/Queen West area as it is walking distance to a lot of places. But that's all you're paying for. I normally always take photos of the rooms at places I stay but I didn't bother with The Drake as it was just so underwhelming.

My husband and I recently got ready at the new wing rooftop suite at the Drake hotel for our wedding and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious location to get ready with their wedding party! The room had plenty of space with beautiful aesthetics that turned out incredibly in photos. The rooftop patio is also a nice touch for the summer. The Hotel Manager and staff were also super accommodating and lovely to work with during the day. They were super helpful in sending up vendors to our room and attending to anything we needed. The perfect spot if you are having a wedding in the area that does not provide a bridal suite.

The food was really good, just that some of the portions are a bit small
