This is such a cute little café! The worker was very kind and quick to serve you, and the food tasted amazing. I got the fish and brews and it was the perfect size and very delicious. They are the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat after going to see the puffins.

We had the bakeapple puff and lemon meringue pie, tea and coffee. We were allowed to seat our dog on the outdoor patio at our feet. Lovely spot for a casual meal with lots of local flavour.

We tried the Puffin Cafe on recommendation of others. Myself and my husband visit Bonavista area quite a bit and have tried several restaurants. We will not be coming back to this one! We walked in and the server said take a seat. We went to one table but it was dirty from previous customers, so we moved to another. A few others came in before the server came to take our order and others got their order before us. The server did try to give someone else's order to us. oops! Probably should have taken it because we had a long wait for soggy caesar salad and over cooked, dry wings. I asked server for another glass of water and she took the glass I was drinking out of and used a scoop to put ice in my glass, touching the rim of the glass that I had been drinking out of. Who else had she done this with and how much DNA can she have on that scoop. GROSS! We will never go back and I hope this server gets a lesson in serving.

waited 100 minutes for our food!
service was very nice and friendly. food was good. but waiting an HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES after placing the order is unacceptable. and they never said anything until we asked. after an hour we asked if our order was still coming and were told it’s taking a long time because two of us ordered burgers and they take a long time.

We just popped in for a coffee. In our 3 weeks spent in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland this was the best tasting coffee by far. Very welcoming staff and happy for us to be there even though we didn't have food.
Gorgeous spot, good coffee, but lacklustre cakes. Blueberry puff was OK, but pastry was dry and the rest is just blueberry jam. Pina colada cheesecake was a bit better. Overall though, 2 cake slices and 2 cups of filter coffee for 30$ does not a good stop make.

I hate to say it, but a friend and I had quite possibly the worst meal of our lives here. I do NOT recommend the 'Fishermans platter '. It seemed like everything was just thrown in a deep fry basket and cooked together for waaaay too long. There were no individual flavors, everything just tasted like grease. Call me crazy, but I don't think scallops are supposed to crunch? Everything was cooked so long that it was dry and tough. Not a good meal at all. I imagine everything else would be okay, but they missed the boat with their Fisherman's Platter.

Food was perfect, service was absolutely lovely. Definitely must stop in before or after seeing the puffins. I had the blueberry lemonade and the fish taco and they were both perfect. The cafe has a gorgeous view of the ocean.
