Went to tye club. Was great.
Nice talented band, friendly service
Service is terrible, folks. If you're out of town, best to stay away. The Jazz may be good, but it isn't worth the dive bar experience.
Great jazz jam on Tuesday nights. Lots of young musicians keeping jazz alive!
Rex hotel has always been my go to for jazz shows that are hosted by talented local & North American musicians at a reasonable price with an amazing vibe - a true city gem for jazz & blues lovers ❤️🎷
Me and my sister recently stayed here for 1 night at $350. She had previously stayed here in 2017 and she stated that it was very nice and clean. When we stayed this time, it had looked like they hadn't vaccumed, swept or mopped in a while... looked under the bed to see a thick layer of dust. There were multiple drips and splatters on the wall that were red/brownish. These stains could've been wiped off. There was also a used q-tip sitting ontop of the AC unit from the 80s. After me and my sister saw this we went out for about 6 hours. When we arrived back at the hotel room it stunk of raw sewage so bad I checked the toilet.... I liked the location and onsite bar, however, other than that we were very dissapointed. I will not be staying here again.
Clean and comfortable stay with the pleasant sound of jazz playing below during the afternoon/evening.
Location was amazing and front desk people were great. Easy check in, and seperate entrance to the hotel (with key card needed to get in). The room was a bit small but very clean. We got the room with the private bathroom but the shared bathrooms looked like they were well maintained. Definitely will stay there again !
Great room, very affordable, friendly staff, and very easy to check in and out. Absolutely staying here again when I come back to Toronto
Very good place to catch a show of blues or jazz. Drinks are well priced.

I
I stayed in a private room with a private bath, and it was really great. The staff was so so helpful. They will hold your bags before you check in and after you check out. The private room was very cozy, had everything I needed. The location is fantastic, maybe the best in the city; walking distance (under 15 minutes) to Chinatown, the AGO, Union Station, Downtown, and much more. Also right on the transit line.
My only note is that the air vent in the bathroom runs continuously and it looked to be very full. I had no effect on my stay, but could be a safety issue if not looked at.
We went to the jazz bar. The musicians were great, they gave a wonderful show.
I booked a table for 3, but we got a table for two and they told us we couldn’t move the chairs around the table. So the 3 of us felt quite cramped sitting in a row along one table trying to eat our food and listen to the music.
Also with my order, they gave me (pretty distinctly) tostitos salsa; would recommend that they replace with a homemade salsa instead.
The food was lovely and the performances even better!
