We went for drinks on Valentines night. The kitchen was closed by then, but we got great seats by the window. The view đŸ€©

The music outside made me not come in. You aren’t one of the clubs in the area, don’t blast shitty music. Id pay your sound system if it meant I didn’t have to deal with that ever again. Very trashy and looks like the next dive in the area. Your better off at the legion around the corner where you don’t pay $12 for something your pretending to like

A fun night for sure. Great atmosphere with heat patio and skyline views of Toronto. Also indoor seating. Service started strong but faded as the night progressed. On balance recommended. Reservations recommended.

Service was excellent but the food was mediocre. A few friends and I came here for a girls night and got some great drinks, however the food was just mediocre. We were surprised by the quality compared to the pricing. While we don't mind spending the money and were looking forward to the experience after seeing the reviews, however, at these prices, we do expect the food offered to align with the prices as well. We ordered the charcouterie board which had the smallest amount of cheese I've ever seen on a board. The pairing of the cheeses and meats offered (which were very cheap quality meats) really did not require the volume of pickled veggies on the board. The onion jam was fantastic, but the crackers were quite frankly stale and soft. We also ordered the buratta which was mediocre at best, and the calamari was tasty but slightly undercooked. It was evident the oil used was not as hot as it should have been making for a much greasier and oil absorbed dish than required. My girlfriends and I did not order dinner and paid ~$52 pp (with one drink each and 3 apps shared amongst 4 people). Not the greatest dining experience for how much we paid.

The service was great, and the staff were very attentive! The cocktails were good, and some had unique flavors, which was a nice touch. However, most of them contained egg whites, which might not be for everyone. The food was okay, but nothing particularly stood out. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would consider coming back for the drinks!

Good selection of tapas, great view of the city and solid cocktails.
They need some more desserts on the menu.

Nice evening on the rooftop for a late dinner, the Broadview’s rooftop terrace and restaurant provided a nice refuge after a long drive to Toronto.

The highlight was the service we got from the waiter. None of the wines we tasted were good (and we are not that difficult to please). He went over and above after we described what we liked and boom, got us exactly the wine we were looking for. Bravo for the effort.

On with the food: skewers (see picture) were OK, a little hard to chew, sauce was good. The flatbread was better, tasty, good portion for the price, well dressed.

However the standout here was the artichoke salad that combined radicchio, olives, salad was crunchy, tasted perfect for a warm summer night.

The weak area is the decor and atmosphere which seemed to have evaded the designers of the hotel. Cold & impersonal at best, it just does not have any personality. I guess they were tired by the time they got to the rooftop compared to the hotel lobby.

Overall, pretty good, hefty prices as expected, but service made the value somewhat palatable. Not a destination but good if you are a guest at the hotel.

P.S.: if this review was helpful to you, please leave a quick ?, thank you ? ?

Parking: Very hard to find parking in the area, almost impossible to park near the hotel.

I made a reservation two weeks in advance for a party of eight to celebrate my 40th birthday at the Broadview Hotel rooftop. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. I’m not sure if there’s been a management change, but the service has drastically declined.

From the moment we arrived, the host was unwelcoming. I requested seating on the rooftop patio, only to be told that it was on a first-come, first-served basis and that we’d have to sit inside. This was confusing, as I saw several tables available on the patio. When I questioned the hostess about this, I was told the patio was reserved for parties of two. However, I noticed several larger groups seated outside. It felt like we were being misled.

After some persistence, they reluctantly agreed to seat us on the patio. I shared my concerns with the manager, Michael, but his response was dismissive. While he apologized, it was clear he didn’t take the situation seriously. I explained that as the manager, he should ensure his staff provides accurate information and treats customers with respect. Unfortunately, he didn’t seem to care.

The rooftop atmosphere, which I used to enjoy, has changed. The servers appeared to be very young, and lacked the experience to handle guests properly. Their attitude was indifferent, and they were far from friendly or accommodating. The overall service was poor, and it was evident that the staff didn’t care about making our evening special.

At the end of the night, I expressed to Michael how awful the experience had been. He didn’t offer any explanation, further apology, or even a semblance of concern. He just stared at me without saying a word.

I’ve always enjoyed the Broadview Hotel in the past, but this experience was truly upsetting. The poor management and lack of professionalism among the staff were unacceptable. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make necessary changes.

One of the worst services I have ever had in any Toronto restaurant. They messed up our reservation for a very important birthday party and we spent twenty hours standing up for the servers to figure out were to sit us and the manager had a bad bad attitude and not helping at all. The food is mediocre and the drinks are overpriced. They did not let us know that they do not split the bills and the server’s answer was a rude shrug “we don’t split the bills”, which kind of ruined the birthday vibe.
To summarize, the place is very OVERRATED and I absolutely do not recommend the place.

Very casual rooftop bar with small choice of bar food.
Because of the flood the main area was closed so i cannot rate the view. cocktail’s were ok, a bit watery as for me prices around 20CAD.
Var type small finger foods only, so if you are hungry please eat somewhere and then come. We nearly ordered the whole menu. My favorite was truffle fries the rest was average. So for a casual visit it’s ok but nothing spectacular.
