A dear friend introduced my partner and I to The Rushton and we are so greatful. We love this place! Thier steak and frites is THE BEST. They cook it perfectly to your choosing! And I mean perfect.

The Rushton a local treasure and the service, she was totally with it and knew her stuff inside and out, very skilled. This visit was my partners birthday.
Been coming here for years and it's usually my go-to place for any celebration. The food is always fantastic and their cocktails are unique and always top-notch. The service is friendly and attentive and the ambience is warm and inviting. Their seafood dishes are especially well executed - perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. A+ to the kitchen staff for always delivering on both taste and presentation! Their passion for excellence is obvious.
What happened to the food quality. I was a regular here and returned after a year or so, and they must have a new chef. I was not impressed.

Best to make a reservation as the patio fills up fast in when the weather is nice and the inside follows suit.
Easy access by streetcar and lots of parking on the surrounding streets.

Friends and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Rushton. The beef was superb, both burgers and steaks were outstanding; flavourful and tender. The serving sizes are generous. I heartily recommend this restaurant.

My in-laws treated us to dinner here for my husband’s birthday and it was truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Our server was so unbelievably accommodating and attentive - we brought our baby with us and he helped us set her up with a high chair, stored away our stroller for us, filled up her sippy cup with water and offered to send back half my fish filet to cook it more so that I could share some with her. The food was also amazing - we ordered the specials (rib-eye steak and sea bass) - even our baby loved everything she tasted from our plates! To top it off, our server made sure to bring out a delicious cake with a candle at the end of our meal and sang a very enthusiastic “happy birthday” :) He really made the evening so special for us. We will definitely be back for the food, the atmosphere, but most of all for the amazing service.

I hadn't been to the Rushton before even though it's been here forever. I had good reviews from friends and it is always PACKED with the 'folks with money' as we say in the neighbourhood as we line up at Bar Ape for our 5$ ice creams. Sadly the cutlery was terrible and the chairs were tired out. I know, odd things to complain about. But for a restaurant with a reputation for good wines and excellent steak I was surprised by the boring glassware and thrift store cutlery. Waitstaff - great. Our food - great. Chairs? Worn out years ago! $120 bucks for three people, to have 2 entrees and an appetizer, 1 mexican beer and 1 elderflower cocktail. No dessert or coffee. Please get better cutlery! And chairs?
The hostess was friendly and helpful and the only good thing about the Rushton, the food was sub par and the deep fried calamari was terrible, the steak came cold so they took it reheated it and went from a medium rare to almost well done , we really wanted to like the place, the decor is nice food honestly terrible, this was my second and last chance for the Rushton

Didn’t get a fair shake here. I asked the waiter if I could make a substitution on the veg he said not problem making no mention at the time that I would be charged a premium for it. When I received the bill I pointed it out to the waiter. He told me it was their policy. Bad business. Food quality and service is very average here.
