Eggnog tastes like warm milk. not real eggnog. tasteless (And it’s $5)
Update: Yes, I am sure I did order from this shop in distillery district lol. Why the gaslighting 😭😭 I’ll put it simply - The eggnog here does not taste good. (And it doesn’t make it better that I paid more than $5 for it after taxes!)

Okay drinks very poor service
Adding to respond the owner's comment: it was not because I did not feel warm or special by chatting longer, it was that the employee had an issue with another customer but added that emotion and tone to serve me. I didn't expect them to make me feel special during the busy time but at least when they took the order, they could have been nicer. It was as if I had done something wrong before I had even interacted with them after waiting for several minutes after the person that ordered before me. I was even smiling while waiting and letting them know to take their time

We came to buy their deluxe grilled cheese because their sign said the “best grilled cheese” and it was indeed the best grilled cheese ! Would highly recommend getting it with the tomato soup ! I have no photos because we ate it all !

I ordered the samosa veggie wrap and a chocolate chip vegan cookie. The veggie wrap was small for $8.75 before taxes and it didn't feel filling at all. The vegan cookie was good but not the best.

I was in line to make a purchase and immediately left when someone who works for the establishment (not sure if it was an owner or employee) started screaming at someone who was working at the distillery winter village, who was simply taking a seat. And well deserved for a long days work and helping these events run smoothly. I understand wanting to keep seating reserved for your guests, but screaming at them like this was unprofessional and disgusting to see. Much better ways to conduct yourself. Obviously me not making a purchase won’t shut this place down, but I do think you should consider in future how other customers witnessing this behaviour can affect business.

Average at best.
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I had ordered a Pumpkin Spice Chai, but what I received was essentially hot milk with a tea bag. Even after it cooled down, the flavor was unrecognizable, and it tasted more like plain milk. Having worked at a Tea Bar, I know that a proper Pumpkin Spice Chai requires a certain steeping time. Unfortunately, my drink was hastily prepared and handed to me without any instructions. This subpar experience ruined my plans to explore the winter market, leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

The Team here is absolutely amazing. Special shout out to TJ.
Everyone went out of their way to help us, both with food (slight modification) and giving us hot water to warm up baby formula.
Will definitely recommend people to come here and eat yummy food and drinks.

The customer service was nice but we did not fancy the samosa wrap (would not recommend). We did not try any of the sweets though; perhaps they would have actually been good. There are a couple of vegan options.

If you have a sweet tooth then do I have the place for you!
Nestled in the heart of the Distillery District where all the cool and trendy people hand-out you'll find a authentic bakery called The Sweet Escape.
I call it authentic because all of their sweets are homemade. Baked right at the very location that they sell them.
True quality ingredients goes into all of their baked goods.
Also, this is truly the best place in Toronto to get a grilled cheese sandwich!
They also have an excellent selection of hot beverages, lattes and cold drinks to choose from.
My favorite sandwich is definitely the brie with pear. Delectable!
So if you're in the neighbour and strolling through the all the great things that the Distillery District has to offer make sure you're fueling up at The Sweet Escape!
Great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even that afternoon snack!
A great place to pick up some sweets for that holiday get together!
Also GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Tiny little bakery with great cakes and cupcakes! We ordered here for our son's birthday and everything was delicious and not too sweet. They also have gluten free options, and the cupcake pricing was better than other spots in the city.

Loved the pecan pie - it was delicious!! Great timing too as it was hard to find a pecan pie on Thanksgiving Eve! :)
