I came in around 6:18pm as I was leaving St. Joseph to get some take out. I came in to see if I can get some food to go as it looked like a classic deli shop from the outside window which looked pretty cool.
Now this lady behind the counter at whole plate, she had dark hair and with black eye liner. I entered the store and looked around and wave at her to greet her, didn’t acknowledge me..cool maybe she didn’t hear me. I began to ask for a menu and she came off intense and her respond “we don’t have a menu, whatever you see is what is listed and began to say everything is cold”. I didn’t mind if it was cold as I was hoping to try the some polish cuisine. But it was the fact that her disgusting attitude forego my experience even stay at this place.
Won’t ever go back to the place as I felt very disrespected.
If you are the owner and reading this, it’s a shame. My family was hoping to try your cuisine and unfortunately we ran into a bad apple.
Ended up going to the next establishment where I felt welcome.

WOW! It's my first time here and the food is AWESOME! I got a salad plate with 4 different salads and the tuna pasta salad... everything was absolutely delicious! I would have ordered almost everything they had if I could and the lady that was working there was very sweet! 🥰 I will DEFINITELY be back!

A place with a great menu to order from. The place works by selling you dishes that are truly flavorful, many of them from Italian, Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisine, most of them are refrigerated but you can ask the person serving if they heat them up. You can eat there, but the space is very small and a little poorly maintained, however, for the price of the stews and their quality and flavor, it is well worth the visit. I recommend the lasagna, Milanese and salads. The person serving is a little older, you have to be patient.

The pierogies are served cold, and cold pork pierogies are just gross. I could stomach the cheese ones but that's about it.

Nice selection of East-European takeaway foods, but...
Two weeks ago my family and I stopped by this place to get some takeaway food for dinner. Most of what we ordered was quite good (Polish sausages, salads, Borscht, etc). The only exception was their lasagna; it was rather dry and hard to eat because of their edges. My wife asked the stoic-looking attendant if she could get the middle portion and the lady simply said; "NO". Maybe it is a culture-thing we are not used to but when we asked politely a 2nd time the lady refused our request. I guess so much for a "great" customer service. I had to admit that the borscht was excellent as well as the salads. That's the main reason I gave 5-star under "food" section but not so under "service" - kind of a disappointment.

Great place, real Polish food, fresh, clean and reasonably priced. I love it. It's much more Polish than it seems from the outside.
If you are too broke to go to Polonez but still crave hearty Polish food, this is a place to go! Sure, the vibe is a bit retro (not in a cute way) but food is good and mostly affordable. Check out their crepes with mushrooms and sauerkraut - these are amazing!

I’ve shopped there many times without incident but yesterday when the server discovered I was Ukrainian, her customer service quickly went downhill. She was curt, and her body language and facial expressions conveyed how distasteful she found serving me. I was stunned.and felt so unwelcome. I speak very good Polish and even after such disgraceful behaviour, I still wished her a Happy Easter in Polish. She turned her back on me without answering and started talking about me negatively to another employee. I will never go back and will let my Ukrainian friends know too about her discriminatory service. She should be fired.
friendly service, fair prices. Amazing pickle soup!

Simply amazing take out food spot on Roncy, the home cooked Polish food is SUPER tasty, thr ladies behind the counter are friendly, and the value is good! They have saved me on several occasions when I’ve been too busy to cook or “forgot” groceries. Our favourites: cheddar jalapeño pireogies, chicken schnitzel, potato pancake, cabbage roll.
As some other reviewers have mentioned the food is cold by default but I have never asked for it to be heated up (I’m sure they could add some patrons if they did!) and it all heats well at home in the microwave
Amazing service and food. Whenever I'm back in toronto I'll definitely be stopping at The Whole Plate.

Healthiest home-cooked food in the neighborhood for a very good price!
The food here is excellent and very tasty. However, the server started to insult the Ukrainian people with derogatory and very vulgar language. This language was totally inappropriate and hateful. I am so totally surprised that in a district like Roncesvalles with so many Slavic and European customers, that understand the perils and sacrifice of the Ukrainian nation, that this type of inappropriate rhetoric in a public establishment exists. Ukrainian soldiers are fighting and dying for Freedom and Democracy not only for Ukraine, but for Poland and the World. Please show some respect.
