I've been The Works' loyal customer, visiting at least once a month (various locations in GTA) for at least 7 years. They have the best burgers.
That said, this specific location, is getting "less good" over the years (to be fair, I recently moved back to the area after a 2-year break from regularly visiting this location).
First and foremost, customer service is consistently inconsistent. Every time I come it looks like they have a new face (not sure if their turnover is high or if it is simply lots of part time staff). What is weird is that when the location is busy, their service is actually better and faster than when they are empty - when it is empty, we usually have to wait for food way longer and ask for something (like refill) a few times. When it comes to take out, this location is top (vs other GTA locations) forgetting something for my order.
I also noticed that, over the years, my favorite burgers were subject to "shrinkflation" - while their prices do go up slower than competitors' (and it is still plenty of food), their burgers are becoming gradually smaller: first, the bun, then the fries, now the fillings. It might be my opinion that is unpopular, but I want my burger the way I've had it for the past 7 years.
Don't get me wrong, I will still be going to The Works and ordering my favorites. And, if you are a first timer, you will have the best time ever. But it's definitely not as good as it used to be, and that is unfortunate.

Listen. If you have ever been asked "how much" or "how do you want your bacon" question asked and the answer was a firm steady "YES", then close the comments section and go inside this place.
They cook. And I mean COOK. Don't want to look at the menu? Fine - just name the toppings. Fancy for predefined options? Oh boy, you are in for a treat. They have surely done their womework. Leave alone that you can modify any of the predefined options. Don't hesitate to talk to staff for options and details.
*Spoiler alert* Everything is made from scratch. Including their chips.
Man. I can't get enough of this. Can't wait to get back.
Ok, just to make sure I'm not overestimating them. They don't serve Guinness. Unlike other places nearby. But those places DO NOT have this level of burgers. Leave alone customisation.
Looking for places in this area of Bloor street? Look no further. Didn't even want to make a shot of the burger - it begged to be eaten😁

Went in on a Monday night. Excellent burger. Bar drinks were on a surprise in-house special rate. Service was attentive and actually gracious from the young woman serving tables. I reduced 1 star only because of the lighting which was so glaring as to be uncomfortable.

We came in around 3 pm and the spot had many seats, so we're able to dine as soon as we came in. The server, which also was the supervisor(i wish we asked for her name), welcomed us and provided amazing service! My fiance, the server, and I shared great report. Then, our order arrived. Wow. My sandwich was prepared with love. I ordered the Chicken fight club sandwich and onion ring, and my partner ordered the hipster burger with die cut chips. Fresh, crispy, pairing great with the beech house sauce. 10/10 across the board. We will definitely be back for another visit

This was a pick-up order. The food was stiff, dry and cold. Then we had disappointed children who didn’t get their chocolate milk or ice cream treat as described included in the pdf menu. Not knowing that somehow the drink and ice cream treat included in a kidz meal, doesn’t apply to pick up orders, I called. It was not until then I learned that these items weren’t provided on pick-ups. No mention on their website. And no small offer of goodwill to compensate for paying the full price on these meals with items deliberately not given. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth along with the food.

This place is my go to for a tasty filling burger. And my favorite sweet potato fries, if you are not a fan of potato fries like me you'll understand what I'm talking about 😉
They struggle with their service, we had to wait for almost an hour.the waitress said it's a busy night but I could see there around 7 tables with customers!

I tried this place as dine in and delivery. The waiters are underemployed, so expect the service to be slow. Food is good, I had the W burger with a beer. When it comes to delivery, food arrived cold (that’s uber eats problem) and they didn’t abide by my preferences, which I mentioned in the notes. Also, the salad came without its sauce, in both separate orders that I have made. Unfortunately, I’m not visiting nor ordering again.

Our server was amazing. They were extra busy due to the Ukrainian festival, causing a few mixups in the kitchen. She caught them before they reached the table and was apologetic for any remake delays.
As we were finishing up, we noticed the table next to our was being rude as we overheard our server say "sir, there is no need to speak to me that way" Our server handled it graciously. The owner or manager had her back and approached the table, told them he had heard how rude they were, and escorted them out of the restaurant.
While we paid our bill, we found out it was all because he couldn't have more fries. They usually offer bottomless fries, but due to the Ukrainian festival, they were unable to honor the bottomlessness of the side. They informed the man and did give him a second helping free of charge, but any subsequent orders would need to be paid for. When he saw his 3rd playe of fries on his bill, he threatened to call the police. What a baby

We visited today, during the Toronto Ukranian Festval. Had a fabulous lunch called Weeds with grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious and plenty of fresh garden salad. The staff is super nice and attentive to our requests.
Can't wait to come back again.

Came here Sunday night while the Ukrainian festival was going on. Had a table of 6 and something was going on with the staff. One of us had the wrong bun, then one of us had an insanely dry burger.
The Hawaii 5-0 burger had a very small piece of pineapple with barely any brie and magic mushroom was lacking in mushrooms.
The only saving grace were the fries. They were genuinely great, but then we were told we couldn't get any extra fries because of the kitchen being backed up(despite them being advertised as bottomless).
Our service was a little slow, but our server was really nice about it and honestly we are a pretty patient and understanding group. Overall we were only disappointed in the fact that we didn't really get what we paid for.
