Loved the food and service was so friendly! So sad that it's closing. Losing too many wonderful, iconic places in Toronto. Soon we will be a city of condos with nothing to do...☹️

Tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich the best I’ve had in many years. The Thompson burger was excellent as well. I highly recommend eating here if in Toronto.

Before going to the diner, visit the bank and sign the mortgage papers. Because you will need it when the bill comes. Unbelievable what they charge for every day fare. Made the mistake once of going there. Never again. Wouldn't even get into the food.

This place is has a simple menu with plenty of “comfort food”. My favourite thing to get here is the Mac n cheese and tomato soup. I typically won’t eat the Mac n cheese to myself since it is extremely creamy but worth trying especially truffle flavour. My only complaint would be the price. For fairly simple food, the price on most items seem to be a little pricey.

The mac and cheese is still amazing. Service from Sameer was wonderful! Going to miss this place. Closing soon

Creative interpretations to classic breakfast/ lunch options with very reasonable costs. Very friendly and courteous reception and service

Haven't been to the Thompson Diner in a while. They used to have the best duck poutine in town. Now their menu is not as nice as it used to be. The most disappointing part of the experience is the pretentious attitude of employees. They should understand that this is a Diner and not a nightclub. Even the decor looks like an attempt to resemble a nightclub. I am sorry that a staple after-hours spot has lost it's charm

I heard from the server it may reopen in the future though its sad to see this popular diner closing by the end of 2019. Its mac and cheese is so rich and comforting. Enjoy while it lasts!

Just had such a great experience at Thompson diner ! We went for a hangover brunch after a night out and it amazing! $5 Caesar’s and mimosas! I had the chicken and waffles which were delicious! Our server was Laaren B, he was so sweet and very accommodating, one of the best servers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Highly recommend this place!!!!

This is the first time we come here for breakfast since we usually eat here very late at night (between midnight to 3 AM). The atmosphere is different as well as the crowd. It's less noisy as well. The server was nice, but I got napkin with a mint gum in the inside. Totally nasty! Aside from that, the food was good. Nothing special with the avocado toast, but still taste good and the omelette was good as well.

One of my go to brunch spots as the food never disappoints. The service is fast and pleasant but the atmosphere has definitely changed. There are way too many people and it is now very crowded especially in the winter where there's isnt much waiting space out front. There are so many great things on their menu but the French toast and the Eggs benny are my go to!

They were friendly and we were served quickly. The food was good. The waffle was good but with their butter and maple syrup it was a little to sweet for my taste. My husband had "the usual " it was tasty as well. He didn't expect grilled onions on his eggs but it was a nice surprise.
