The attitude is terrible. Everything looks like it is soaked in oil. The food is really cheap and the quantity is large. But you may have sat there for half an hour and no one will bother you😅 and they only accept cash and don’t tell you in advance.

It closes at six o'clock in the evening. The map says eight o'clock. Be sure to pay attention to the closing time. If it is too late, call the store in advance to ask.

I ate some wire inside the beef patty and instantly lost my desire to eat it. It was a bit disgusting.

Excellent food. New tastes. Friendly staff. I learned about Tianjin while I was there. Not many places are open at 730 AM and their doors were open a but earlier.

The service is basic and it isn't clear if any of the staff speak any English. But you can get by quite easily with the English menu and writing dish numbers on the order sheet. Cash only.

The food is absolutely fantastic and quite cheap. My partner says that it is very authentic Northern Chinese cuisine. I don't really see about that, it tastes great.

This off-the-beaten-path resto is locatedin the heart of Toronto’s downtown Chinatown. Just a few steps north off Dundas St. it is well worth a visit. There is nothing fancy here. After descending a few stairs to the half-basement location you’ll find yourself in a small, very plain space suffused with delicious aromas. The service is efficient to the point that some people might feel that it’s brusque. Honestly, you just have to get past that. This is a small operation and the one person taking/serving orders is also responsible for packaging up the many (many) orders being picked up by Fantuan Delivery, as well as being the person responsible for settling up the bill. Be kind and just relax into the pace. Once you’ve ordered you can chill at your table as long as you like - no pressure to leave at all.For lunch we ordered four dishes: Tianjin Style Jianbing with Crispy Filling; Fried Chinese Chives Pocket; Sliced Beef (Tripe) & Ox Tongue; and, Pork and Lotus Root Fried Dumplings.Everything was made fresh and delicious. There were so many layers of complex flavours and textures (the Jianbing was particularly awesome texture-wise) each dish was a delight to devour. The spicy tripe was delicious, and the ox tongue was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The dumplings were brown and crispy on the bottom, and tender chewy on top - perfect with an accompanying black vinegar.A quick note: rather unusually for a Chinese restaurant they don’t serve tea, so that delicious and relaxing option isn’t available.Total for this delicious lunch was $61.50 (tax and tip included). Great value for money; highly recommended!
