I’ve been a fan of Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken since their food truck days in 2019, and it’s been amazing to watch them grow into one of Toronto’s must-try spots. They even broke records as a top seller at the CNE three years in a row—a true testament to the passion and perseverance behind their journey.

The fried chicken ? Unreal: Japanese-style fried chicken that’s perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with bold flavors that keep you coming back. Every bite feels like the result of years of dedication and love for food.

What makes this spot even better is the vibe—great food, cocktails, and if you stick around, an underground dance floor that makes it a full experience. Honestly,
more than just great food—it’s a story of growth, dedication, and unforgettable flavor and experience in one place.

Idk if it’s because we did take out, but it wasn’t good. The breading was thick and weirdly doughy/chewy. The sauces weren’t great either and somehow lacking in flavor. We had a bag of salad from Costco and that was the star of the meal.

What a joke. They advertise being rated 2nd best chicken sandwich in Canada. It’s very oily and average tasting if I’m being nice.

Amazing experience!!

Ambience - 9/10 - Super nice sit down spot. From what I know it’s a club on weekends and a nice sit down spot on weekdays and during the day. Music selection is great and decor is very well done!

Service - 8/10 - There was only one sever there when I went with friends. Poor guy was running in and out of the kitchen but was very welcoming and friendly and took great care of us. Cutlery and Crockery was simple but very well kept and clean!

Taste - 8/10 - Mostly halal food with a variety of flavours and dish options. Chicken sandwich and wings are a must get.

Overall 8.3/10 will definitely be coming back!!

Food was great and staff were so friendly. They share their space with a bar so it felt a lot more upscale than any other chicken shop, with the same prices.

Came here and we were the only ones dining on a Thursday for AYCE wings. The wings were really good, super crispy and hot from the fryer. We tried several sauces and they were all delicious, nothing was bad or mediocre. We honestly had such a good time here and will be coming back. Thank you for such hospitality and delicious wings

Being a huge fan of Japanese fried chicken, I decided to check out the offerings on my way back from work.
Having visited Tokyo countless times, I was envisioning one of my favorite places near Kichijoji station which offered the best karaage dons. A small hole in the wall where salary men would quietly devour their donburis during their lunch breaks.
Needless to say, Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken was quite the opposite. Loud music, a DJ table near the entrance and a lounge type of setting. But it didn't matter since I came for the chicken. I didn't even care that for the first time in my life, I had to eat karaage with a fork and knife.
So how was it? It was amazing. I ordered the college dropout and the karaage was perfect - better than some of the Japanese run places in town. Of course I got the okonomi sauce which went perfectly with the wasabi mayo. The spring rolls were an interesting addition and they were great as well. Even the rice was cooked perfectly.
I'll be back again when my friends from Japan come to visit. I think they'll be impressed at this Japanese inspired menu combined with the western atmosphere.

Sandwiches were not good. Not spicy, poor chicken, breading tasted bad. Could not tell the difference between Tokyo Hot vs Nashville Hot sandwiches except the subtle ginger flavor in the slaw.

I think I’ve tried everything on this menu at least twice and there isn’t a single thing I would complain about. Portions are very generous way to go guys
