The portion getting smaller and smaller, really disappointed that, a lunch or dinner set is not enough for a normal human being

Cheap and delicious Japanese food.
Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait for a table for 3. It was my first time coming back in years and I was really surprised by how well priced this place was . They had lunches for under $20! I got the pork katsu bento and it was plenty for lunch. The tempura was my favorite part as it was freshly fried.
Highly recommend and would come back.

I’m really disappointed with my order this time. I already ate a small piece of the cutlet (as you’ll see in the picture), but even before that, the portion was shockingly small — barely the size of my palm. I’ve eaten here regularly in the past and the cutlets were never this tiny. Not sure if the quality dropped or if they’re cutting corners, but this is nowhere near the portions I used to get. Definitely not worth the price anymore.

The food and service were ok-ish. We had zaru soba, unagi don, and sake don.
The host that gave us the table, however, was bad. Don’t know what kind of discrimination we encountered. Every couple was seated in a table for four and there were still three tables for four available. She told us to sit in a table for two. Fine! Then, an individual customer came and the same host let her take the table for four people. No, that individual wasn’t waiting for more people. She ate by herself and left at the same time as us.
NOTE: In the middle of all these, another couple came in and was also told to sit at the table for two just like us, but they moved to a table for four by themselves after the host turned her back. Were we just too polite to do what we were told?!?

The food that we got here were terribly bland, especially for the higher-end price points. I was very surprised that this place has such high ratings.
The servers were nice, and the atmosphere just okay.

Love this place. Food is always great. Service is typical Japanese service: friendly and professional. Very clean, authentic Japanese.

We had the beef udon soup, karage and some shrimp tempura- they were all outstanding, and service is great.
Will be returning soon to try the tendon dish we saw lots of others ordering!
Friendly and quick service with good (but not great) food. Unfortunately the homeless sanctuary with its open drug usage across the street completely kills the vibe. Many times the homeless hang out right outside, making the patio a very uncomfortable place to sit.
