Food took forever to come, only 1 waiter and 1 cook on a Sunday night

I ordered the black garlic ramen. And it was horrible. The soup tasted like burnt garlic with a bitter aftertaste. Plus it was so under-seasoned. I’ll never recommend it to anyone. So disappointing experience

Service was excellent- fast and kind. Portions are standard. Beer served in chilled glass. Price is typical for the city. The black garlic ramen was ok- so happy to see the egg included automatically (many have this as an add-on) but the egg didn’t have much of the marinated flavour, and the black garlic ramen had a very burnt crispy flavour, which I didn’t expect or enjoy. Broth was good, noodles were just okay. Pan fried gyoza were good. I would come back and try a different ramen flavour.

$22 FOR AIR AND CARBS!!!
PORTION SIZE FIT FOR A TODDLER, MAYBE EVEN A HUNGRY GOLDFISH. 😂
Prices keep climbing, and the portions keep shrinking faster than my patience. I swear the broth used to fill the bowl six months ago — now it’s like a tasting sample. Paid $22 for what felt like a bowl of carbs and disappointment. If you’re actually hungry, bring a snack for after. Would give more stars if they served adult-sized portions! ⭐🥄

The black garlic ramen is definitely the best! Also we liked the veggie gyoza.

Great food, cozy place, affordable options, and the best attention possible.

It's easily one of the best restaurants in Toronto. Highly recommended!

I’m not sure why I had this Ramen place bookmarked in my phone but I decided to give it a try one evening with friends during the work week.

I really enjoyed the food, it was delicious. The black garlic ramen, veggie gyoza and Takoyaki were all savoury and fantastic. The portion sizes for price were appropriate and I ended up taking some of it home. They’re all beautiful dishes on the plate.

Service was friendly and quick, we were greeted, seated and served within minutes of walking in. Soon after we sat down, the restaurant filled up with other patrons which is a good sign.

However I also judge a restaurant based on its cleanliness and the washrooms leave much to be desired. If a restaurant’s washrooms aren’t clean, it gives you a window into how dirty the kitchen and back of house are.

The washrooms are in a serious need of a cleaning. There is black filth on the white doors, everything has a bit of a grime covering multiple surfaces.

Overall, the food is delicious, I would return but maybe for take-out next time. Please clean your restaurant.

SCAM. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. This stupid place offered 2 for 1 and then charged me twice. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM HERE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I just paid $52 for something THEY said would only cost $26.

Went here with my friends and they really enjoyed the ramen! I wasn’t eating myself, but the staff were so kind, sweet, and super accommodating. Really recommend this place if you want great food and great service!

Food was great. But they need more than 1 server especially on weekends.

I am super pregnant and really had to use the restroom. This place was right in front of me. I asked for the lady’s permission BUT she said “only costumers” eventhough I showed her my 8 month pregnant belly! That was very inhumane

Touhenboku has been the goto for my ramen fix. I went there after 2-3 months for takeout. Always order the same thing - 2 veggie miso and 1 ultimate spicy veggie miso soup. I usually get 2 bags for the 3 soups and the 3 ramen containers. Today, only had 1 bag and somehow it didn't register. Got back home and my wife noticed it and asked me if I ordered less or forgot a bag. Looked in the bag. 3 soups and 3 ramen bowls. However, the soup containers were half the size of what I used to get before. The price is the same but the quantity of soup is significantly less. If that wasn't enough, the soup before used to come as spicy and regular but apparently that has changed since the last time I got takeout. Now they give a separate container with spicy sauce/paste. I found out after I called in to tell them that they made a mistake with the order. Unfortunately, the spicy sauce/paste was missing too. I mean, mistakes happen. But it was a little disappointing. Their response was that they can give me the spicy sauce next time. The food was good as usual. No complaints there. The overall experience was quite off-putting though. Not sure if I'll go back. Pic attached. Old soup container vs new.
