Been coming here for a while, I'm not sure if its just the new person they hired but their portions got so small. Ordered a large ox tail and only got 6 pieces of ox tail. Very disappointed with the new portion sizes.
Before, I would get so much oxtail you wouldn't see any rice, now its almost all you see...

Tropical Joes does a lot of things right - the portions, consistently delicious and at a great price.. however, there is an employee there who does not honour their business hours. Twice now (most recently on September 14th) I arrived 35 minutes before closing time to the same employee telling me they are already closed while counting out money and every thing already put away with zero apology and an attitude. Unacceptable.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I have been going to this place for over 15 years. The service is fast friendly and delish!!!! The owner always mixes me up with someone else he knows each time when I go in and now I’m just going to play along 😂😂😂😂 merry christmas TJs!

Parking: Tropical Joe’s is inside Gerrard Square. Parking is always an issue there. It’s very busy and sometimes difficult to park.

Tropical Joe's is a local gem! Delicious food and friendly staff. I love the jerk chicken dinner with potatoes, spicy patties, jerk chicken sandwich on a soft bun (so good), and the jerk chicken poutine is great, too.

A super place (only place in Gerrard Square That I will eat from). For a quick delicious bite, try the stuffed patties. The jerk pork poutine is mind blowing yum. I have been known to just stop in, get an order of jerk chicken, or pork, bring it home and toss with some penne pasta. If you like the spice, and the taste of the Carribean, this is by far the best place to be.

This place is such a hidden gem. You always get good portions, flavour packed jerk chicken, crispy and fluffy patties, affordable prices, and always friendly service. Sometimes I try to find reasons to come to the mall just to grab a jerk chicken stuffed patty!
