Good pasta but dishes are pretty expensive and the sauce for the meatballs tasted like it was from a jar. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-18

This place is consistently good, but a few misses. When they first opened it was mostly vegan with only 1 or 2 things on the menu that were vegetarian, but the last time I went all but one pasta dish had cheese. There's no reason for them to have so much cheese on the menu when they also feature wonderful alternatives like in their vegan Brie appetizer. Would love to see them bring back more vegan pastas and less cheese. The vegetable side dishes are always good. Love the meatballs. The only real misses I had here were a risotto and pasta dish that were bland. Small space and you need a reservation, but vibes are good and I've always had good service. Delicious food but it was somewhat hard to enjoy based on the seating alone which was super cramped and felt elbow to elbow to people on either side which is a big detractor for me. Felt unfair to knock a star off for this because everything else was fine, but I this would definitely factor into whether I'd want to return so keep that in mind if it's important to you too

I was so looking forward to dining here. As a vegan, there aren't that many special spots to try in the city. I'm also fairly easygoing when it comes to food/restaurants so I am usually very easy to please. We ordered the meatball appetizer and the olives. Olives didn't come with bread; something like that would have made it more enjoyable. Instead we were offered the chance to purchase bread. The meatballs were quite good, but the dish was cleared before we were finished with it. The olives, meanwhile, did not taste good. We then got the mushroom main (“maitake”) and it was a very small portion although it tasted good. The risotto portion was also quite small. Unfortunately, it was lacking in both presentation and taste. Looks-wise, picture a thin layer of neon orange rice spread out over a black plate and dotted with some kind of white cream that looked like polka dots. As a result of the thin layer, the food was barely warm and looked like it had been poured out on the pavement. It had very little flavour although I did like the crunchy salt crystals in it. We decided to skip dessert and headed to Honey's down the block for ice cream. It was great, btw. The two hour dining maximum that was written on the menu made us feel unwelcome, as did the early clearing of our appetizer. Food was expensive for the small portions and hit or miss when it came to taste. We will stick to Planta! Updated from previous review on 2023-04-03

Lots of Veg options, although expensive for small portions. Good place for a fancy date, classy interior.

Service, atmosphere and food were fantastic. This was our first time here but we will come back and will happily recommend Gia to others.

We had the vegan crab cakes, Bolognese parpadelle, and wild mushroom tortelli and each were delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Love this place. Pics I uploaded are from when it was called Ufficio (they used to serve some meat dishes) before they turned vegan/vegetarian.

We've been a few times. Excellent food and service. Ufficio is now officially closed and reopened / rebranded as GIA, entirely vegetarian and plant-centric (previously included fish and seafood). Otherwise similar offerings.

Ufficio is now hosting Stefano's Sandwiches which are all plant-based! So exciting to have more plant-based options in the city. We tried them for the first time yesterday and are already counting down to when we can treat ourselves again. The "fried chicken" was absolutely amazing, the best vegan approximation of chicken I've tried to date and the eggplant parm sandwich was amazing as well. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.

They have a lovely plant based menu that changes. Definitely go for the arancini and lasagna. So good!!

Am I ever grateful that Ufficio is open for takeout during quarantine. I am all the more grateful that last-minute, the day before Easter, when my MIL wanted to do a virtual dinner (panicked, as I had near nothing to eat left at home) that they had a Dinner for Two option still available to order. We ordered the Stuffed Trout dinner, which came with foccacia bread, house olives and rapini. We added a side of asparagus. The service from phone call, to pick up, was incredible. The ladies couldn't have been nicer. And when I nearly smacked my forehead for forgetting to ask how to reheat the food when I got home, I realized that the instructions were included on each box! I was impressed. The foccacia was truly something else. I was so glad it was included. The trout. Was. Amazing. I say that, even AFTER forgetting that I reheated the butter sauce and FORGOT it in the microwave! But the highlight was very clearly the asparagus. Delicious! The pine nuts were a great addition to it! I can't wait to come back to Ufficio when this lockdown is over!
