I finally was able to attend UMI's Kitchen after so many attempts by UBER and DoorDash as it always says unavailable. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. I thought it was located more east on Dundas but it's actually near Dundas and Sherbourne. Toronto has tried to revive the neighborhood but, it has the same energy. I was lucky as parking is street parking so expect to park and run in to get your order. It looked closed when I got out and the door is not...
The food is amazing. The jerk and bbq chicken are so moist and tender. The meat literally falls off the bone!!!! The rice and beans are so moist. The lunch deal is so worth it. Do not sleep on this place😫
Homey space in the downtown area, so keep in mind of the possible population around the shop. Nevertheless the oxtails had a good flavor just fatty and not enough meat for me, but the rice and beans were good especially with the gravy. Jerk was good seasoned well 1/1 white and dark with rice and beans. Give a try if you’re by
