nice packaging, more than enough for one person, taste is good but nothing to exaggerate, I tried it cold, it's not something to be excited about

I don’t understand what the hype is about.
The Japanese cheesecake from a t&t store is way better.
This one just tasted like an egg tart. Texture was nice and fluffy though.
They also don’t sell slices so you have to buy an entire cheesecake. It’s only $14.95 so not a huge deal, it is a lot for one person though.

The worst cheesecake ever tasted and bought. Service was really slow. The expectations of how great it was, was very disappointing. Do not recommend. Will never go back there again

Grab and go. No place to seat. We tried one chocolate tart, it’s not egg tart. Too sweet. Lots of sugar!

I just love Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake. The Ube flavored cheesecake throws me off a bit because I know what the real Ube tastes like and they are extremely hard to get and harvest. Supply is very limited around the world. Fluffy cheese cake is all I can think about whenever I eat this. 😆 Sigh.. 15$ per cake, it's a luxury nowadays.

Uncle Tetsu has relocated to the North East side at Dundas and Bay Street (Atrium on the Bay). They used to be on the North West side (Greyhound Bus Terminal).
I remembered when they first opened across the street, I lined up for 1.5 hours to get a hold of 1 out of 12 cheese cakes that came out of their small oven. They were selling it for $10 bucks or less for 1 unit back then. That was 2015. Fast forward, they still have a line up, but not as bad of a wait as before, as they now have more locations across the GTA. Relocation took placed in the summer of 2022.
This is where it all started in Toronto.
In comparison to all other Uncle Tetsu locations, this is the only location that I know of that sells soft serve ice cream, hot/cold drinks, and have promotions for …
1) coffee/cheesecake combo
2) cheesecake/soft baked cookies - limited time “Holiday” promo
3) catering menu
They also seem to be selling more flavours. It was also my first time noticing, they actually offer personalized stamped Birthday Cheesecakes which I thought was cool. Not sure if there’s an additional fee for that.
I tried the Crème Brûlée Cheese Tart which was insanely delicious. The crust’s texture was giving with a soft interior. The caramel topper was crispy and light weight.
The Matcha Madeleine reminds me of a muffin or a cupcake. It was also good too. I love the richness taste of the Matcha Powder.
They accept cash, debit and credit cards. There’s no washroom facilities on site or chairs to sit. It’s only take out. You can enter the bakery off Dundas Street or from Atrium on the Bay, but the line queues to Dundas Street.
Take advantage of the Holiday tax break until February 15th, 2025 to sample everything they sell.

There's always a queue, it's good but feel certain things have shrunk in size. Cheese tart and cheese cake are good

The tart is very sweet. Cheesecake is always warm... It tastes like Paris Baguette factory bread cheesecake, which is perfect when it's cold, but if you microwave it for 15 seconds, it becomes fluffy and heavenly. They don't sell taro cheesecake these days. They said it was a problem with material supply... ㅠㅠ

I've been to Uncle Tetsu twice, and I can confidently say it's a dessert lover's paradise! Their cheesecakes, cookies, and madeleines are absolutely delightful.
Each bite is soft, airy, and melts in your mouth before you even realize it's gone—leaving you craving more every time. It's impossible to stop at just one piece!
Everything on their menu is worth trying, and the quality is consistently top-notch. If you haven't visited yet, you’re truly missing out.
A must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth!
