This place has everything. Generous portions. Nutritious food. Flavour. GENEROUS PORTIONS. Well yes! I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. This is the only fine dining I dare spend money on in this city. Deep fried mac n cheese bites? The ingenuity. The passion. The artistic flare. nobody could make me hate you veda xoxoxo
This restaurant is in main campus of University of Toronto and it appears, it is mostly geared towards catering students.Firstly, locating the restaurant was an ordeal. Even inquiring with fellow university students yielded no clues about its whereabouts. To my surprise, it's tucked away underground, and despite passing by it countless times, there were no signs or billboards to indicate its name or presence.Anyway, after nearly 20 minutes of searching (following posted pictures of other Google review), I finally stumbled upon this restaurant, only to be greeted by disappointment – it was closed (on Weekdays). There were no signs or posters, even on Google Maps, displaying its opening and closing times.Frankly, I'm puzzled by what other individuals find so remarkable about this establishment. Based on my experience, it appears to definitely offers terrible service and I assume their food could only be described as average, despite their claims of serving authentic Indian cuisine. I have seen terrible places and this restaurant gives the same vibe.In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant left me thoroughly unimpressed, and I would caution anyone expecting even an average dining experience.Avoid this place like plague!
This is my go-to place for getting meals on campus! Generous portions and well-priced. They also have options for different dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan)
Great food for a campus. Generous portion, flavourful. I took a large butter chicken curry with a side of Naan and drink combo for $15. Other things looked great too.
Pretty great when I came here! Fresh, well-seasoned, and pretty well-portioned.I had the butter chicken and beef curries. You also get the added benefit of having an excuse to mingle with the engineering students, so that’s nice too.
Get yo samosas after a devastating morning

I see several good feedback but I didn't find the case when I went there.1. It is not authentic Indian, can say Indian based or fusion.2. The menu says basmati rice but I didn't get, rather it was some thick rice not comparable to basmati even.3. We took the vegetable rice option with 2 curries and the blend of taste was not matching . Like you are eating fried rice with Indian curries ..
I got chickpea curry and butter chicken. The butter chicken I had was alright. Generally both curries need more spice, there isn't too much kick to them. They do give large portions. However, it is a bit pricy.
Refused to use my UofT meal plan bucks because machine was "broken", despite having yourself listed as a place that accepts dining dollars on UofT's Food and Services Website. Please stop making false advertisement and remove yourself from the list.So I asked to have a container to share food with my friend and they charged me 75 cents for a container. YOU CHARGE ME BECAUSE YOUR MACHINE IS BROKEN??? It's YOUR machine that's broken!!! Keep in mind, I pay $20K tuition at UofT and $800 something for incidental fees and you charge me for a 75 cents container - unbelievably ridiculous.I understand that your containers are compostable which does cost more, but please have some kind of compensatory mechanism to make up for the misleading info you are giving on an official website - that is only quality service, unless you don't consider yourself as such, which I would be totally fine with :)
I'm so glad to have Veda open again. It's my favorite place to eat when I'm back on campus
