PERMANENTLY CLOSED, APRIL 20TH 2020. Its unfortunate, but it was the best restaurant in the Junction. Hopefully there's someone with Deep pockets that resurrects it.
So sad to be losing one of the most iconic Pizzerias if not the best at least in the west end of Toronto. I moved from the east end to the Junction in 1968,that was the first time i had the pleasure of tasting their amazing pizza,i was 14 years old. I am now 66 and was still getting takeout from them till this day. Their pizza to this day was always consistent and always delicious. Just very upsetting to hear of this unfortunate closing. In closing,Thank You to current and past employees for outstanding service over the years. Yours truly,Dennis T. Murphy.
Best pizza (gluten free too!) and seafood pasta in town along with excellent service. I'm gonna miss our Friday nights there. Thank you!
It was heartbreaking to learn of the pending permanent closure of this iconic piece of Toronto history. It was our pizza home.
I always loved their lunch specials . The lasagna was always filling and very tasty. Sorry to hear of their decision to close , but all good things must come to an end
SOOOOO heartbreaking to hear they’re closing!!! I’ve been a customer since 1971 and grew up eating their food. My friends have worked there and I NEVER thought it would EVER close! Another Junction institution is gone. Truly heartbreaking! Their food was always great! I think it was a little bit better back in the 70s and 80s (or maybe not, but everything seemed to be better back then) but I ordered a pizza from them a couple weeks ago and it was great as usual. Having grown up in The Junction (on Runnymede at St. John’s) and seeing this place close is like the final nail in the coffin of how The Junction used to be for me. Without Vesuvio’s it’s just not the same anymore. I weep for this closure. Thanks for almost 50 years of great food guys! You’ll be greatly missed! ??
Pizza was great, thin crust, pepperoni, mushroom. Meals like veal sandwich and Veal Scallopini fantastic. Greek Salad awesome.
Their pizzas are the best. Great local Italian food.
They are the best. Period. What they do is the best.
I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I love how the customer service is always excellent and they keep the spot well kept regularly. Pricing is convenient and they serve large portions.

Decent pizza etc from a place that’s been a part of this neighborhood since the late 50s. Worth a visit if you’re nearby. One thing they never ever get right is pizza slice takeouts - if you ask them to heat to half the usual temperature, they still serve it to you at hotter than the centre of the sun. It’s like their ears were clogged with pizza dough. Otherwise, a good restaurant.
I've always gotten delivery so I can't comment in the in-house restaurant experience. But Vesuvio's has always provided me with perfectly made pizzas, every time. They are always crispy golden brown with a beautiful balance of topping distribution. My body can't tolerate dairy well, but once in a while, I'll cheat because I can't resist Vesuvio's pizza. I also ordered a Caesar salad today. The dressing was already on the salad but not mixed in - so the salad wasn't soggy and there was no extra container waste. It seemed deceptively simple at first glance: romaine lettuce and croutons. But the flavour of the Caesar dressing was so rich, and my eyes widened in delight when a potent garlic flavour exploded in my mouth as I bit down on a crouton. Lastly, the Tiramisu - deeply rich and flavourful, with perfectly fluffy cream and dense spongey-soft lady fingers. I'm sitting here now basking in the joy of this meal. Prices are super reasonable too for the quality of food you get. Thank you Vesuvio's!
Went out to celebrate a friend's birthday and this restaurant has the best Italian food from the pizza to the salads and the pasta, everything is awesome. Worth checking out.
used to be a famous place for Italian immigrants to meet up... continuing the tradition i bring my kids for great pizza and food. I heard lots of stories about Italians meeting here and now i continue that tradition .
The food is delicious. The service leaves much to be desired. We order from here every week, without fail. They repeatedly get the order wrong. The order is the same every week. And yet, they mess it up. Service is not complicated - pay attention to what you are doing and make sure you meet the customer’s needs. For whatever reason, Vesuvio can’t grasp this basic concept. Dine in, but don’t order take-out.
