I had the best experience at Vlad’s Bakery. The atmosphere is so pleasant and has a European feel to it. The pastries are fresh and there is a wide variety to choose from. The homemade soups are also delicious. The owner is very nice and has great recommendations. Definitely a must visit in Toronto!

Had the greatest experience with this business today! Very thoughtful, accommodating and kind service over the phone (I called twice). I wanted to order something fresh for tomorrow, the owner was very apologetic due to being closed (the only day of the year, the new year) and offered alternatives. When my mom was picking up what turned out to be a large order, she was helped by the owner in carrying everything and offered a bonus item. One of the warmest conversations I had with a business owner locally. Highly recommend, delicious donuts and latkes!

So much better than most of the bakeries found in the city these days. My biggest problem at Vlad's is deciding what to have.

The best Pierogies I've ever had. I came back to try the other ones in the freezer. I spoke with the owners for awhile about the Grocery sold ones and how his are so much better. He remembered me from last time, I spoke with his wife for some time about the Buisness. I tried some other items and was very delicious. I don't get why so many people are hard on this place when it's so difficult to find a bakery with a big selection like Vlads. This isn't grocery store bought foods with over 10 Ingredients and chemicals to prolong self life. You should consume them or store them in the fridge right away. If you have any problems just take it up with the owners

My friend and I had a very UNPLEASANT experience on a Saturday night. I am not the type to leave bad reviews but I see people have the same issue with the same person 😌

The door was wide open, it was 7:30 pm, we saw that the floor’s wet and was mopped so when my friend and I walked in, the first thing I asked was “what time do you guys close?” Because we didn’t want to be one of those customers who comes in 5-10 minutes before close.

The girl said 8 pm so we thought “okay, great!

We ordered an apple cheese tart to share and pulled out the chair to sit down, have a quick bite that wouldn’t be longer than 5 minutes and go since we know the shop is closing soon. MIND YOU we also asked her if we could sit and she helped us to pull out our chairs.

I just sat down, my friend didn’t even have a chance to sit down and the owner Vlad came out and said “you can’t stay here, don’t you see she is closing??? 😡👨‍🍳”

We didn’t say a single word and just left.
There were so many ways he could have approached this but he chose to be RUDE.

The girl apologized as we were leaving.
I hope Vlad treats his employees better than he treats his customers 😋

Edit: just realized the shop has so many bad reviews that the owner gave up on responding to them and acknowledging his mistakes😭💀🙊🤷🏻‍♀️

Big time local treasure. Do yourself a favor and get the thick, moist poppyseed cake. It's a whole thing.

Great food..if you dine in, you have 40 minutes, or they will ask you to leave(only 2 tables)
We didn't see a sign about the 40-minute rule.

Please stop selling stale and fermented pastries. They look great in the display, I’ve had your pastries a few times and it’s the same disappointment each time.

This is a great bakery, 10/10. I had the spinach pie, which is similar to spanakopita, but with dill. The pastry was excellent too.
This is a bakery to check out if you want to try some authentic European pastries and doughnuts.

Serve was great, but the doughnuts were not so great. The ricotta chocolate chip horn was okay.
