I've been here twice now and have tried a few things. Their cheese cake is HUGE and a different kind than what I'm used to, but I still liked it.

The second time, I got some day olds (decent enough) a jar of pickle soup and some pierogi. The pickle soup is so delicious! I did get only one beef chunk in my jar, but I ended up getting my husband to eat it anyway. Can't wait to try the pierogi! Only issue, I wish the bags were marked so I know what kind they are, since I bought 3 different kinds.

A lovely bakery in Toronto’s Greektown with a wonderful assortment of cakes, tarts and squares. I have never had their cabbage rolls, but my neighbour speaks very highly of them. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This spot should be called Bad bakery not Vlad bakery. The scones I got today were rock hard. The $12 homemade chicken noodle soup is filled with dill and pickles and while I am a fan of all things dill, it just tastes like brine. So gross. Lastly the beet salad I bought wasn’t wrapped properly and it leaked all over my apartment as I was bringing it in. So fun. Will not be returning.

Got the brownie and it tasted off. Upon checking it closely, we found mold growing underneath 😭 I thought people were exaggerating with their reviews but upon experiencing it myself, never going back here again!

Overall, this is a cute spot with a large selection of baked goods and other things, including freezer items. Quality and service can be inconsistent, but the price is right ♥️ #contestentry

Got the pistachio cheese cake, the cheese part of it was great, but the pistachio part took me some time to realize that WAS pistachio, cuz it tasted kinda like dish soap 💀, like I had pistachio flavored stuff elsewhere and pistachio itself, and they don’t taste like this, so that was rlly weird, but the price is ok ig and I did enjoy the “cream cheese part” of the cheese cake, it’s just that the pistachio was quite different from the expectations…

For what it is, Vlad‘s is well deserving of an above average rating. The quality of their food is authentic and very Eastern European. Their baked goods are comparable to anything you would get in Prague or Budapest, with rosewater, taking a front row seat in many of their baked goods. Their breads are outstanding. We frequent it often as we find ourselves walking by almost daily. These are the type of Mom and Pop establishments Toronto needs more of, so that we can retain a unique neighbourhood setting across the city. These places will only survive if the residence of the neighbourhood make a concerted effort to frequent them rather than frequent thing big chain, establishments, coffee, houses, and opting in for mass produced big goods at grocery stores.

Please ask your staff to check the boxes before you are sent home with pastries. It's pretty disappointing to order and pay for oversized butter tarts and then when you get home open up the box to find really tasteless shortbread cookies with weird jam in them.

Went in here the other with time to kill. Wasn't really feeling the selection, but figured i'd be safe with a brownie.

4.50 for a fudge brownie that didn't have any hint of fudge taste to it. There was some kind of fruity flavour in the wafer-thin layer of frosting thst COMPLETELY turned me off.

It's a shame because it's a nice place and the staff are very friendly. But the overly complex and overpriced food means it's not for everyone. Might need to try a few different things until you find sonething that resonates with you.
