Had my first horrid experience here after years of being my favorite bar and coffee shop. The new bartender last night was rude, condescending, pretentious and made us wait 30 mins at a table without any service even after acknowledging us multiple times and then would serve other new entrants. Not sure what the catch was on that, maybe we weren't cool or young enough I have no clue. All the other baristas and bartenders have always been top notch, one even helped remove a stain from my hockey jersey after someone spilled wine on it at a Leafs game. This new guy was the worst stereotype of millenial hipster coffee shop barista unfortunately.

We have been coming to this place for two years. The bartender is always rude. Every time we come, we order multiple drinks. The other day, I was stretching and moved to another chair to sit and the bartender asked me to sit back at my place. The vibe has completely changed after the guy started working at the bar

I have been to Voodoo Child probably about 50-100 times. Awesome drinks and coffee. Unfortunately, my recent experience will be my absolute last. I have never experienced such rudeness from staff member at any bar, coffee shop, or restaurant. I rarely leave bad reviews, but the attitude and snarky responses, unhelpful comments, and lack of personality of the staff member left me feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and honestly, baffled. No idea what his deal was. The vibe completely changed in the bar when he started his shift and I just had to leave. I also witnessed him treating other guests in a poor manner which was quite shocking. I’m honestly still shocked by my experience as I write this. Hopefully he was just having a bad day, but unfortunately I was so uncomfortable in the place that I won’t be coming back.

Consistently my favourite coffee in the whole city (having tried most high-end coffee spots) plus a fun assortment of sundries, like fancy tinned seafood and instant Vietnamese coffee.

Voodoo Child probably straddles the divide between bar and cafe the best in Toronto. It seamlessly transitions between being a daytime cafe and evening bar, with some overlap of course. I'm usually here for coffee and it's always enjoyable. There's some seating but it isn't exactly an auditorium, so on a busy day you may need to take your order to go (the good news is that Kensington Market is right around the corner) or worst case, check somewhere else out

Voodoo Child is a super cool little espresso and cocktail bar with good energy, quality coffee, great people, and tremendous service. Jason, Voodoo Child's owner, went above and beyond to correct a small mistake for me, providing some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. It's safe to say that I'll be coming back, and you should, too.

What a great little coffee shop. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Good selection of booze too. Service was a tad slow because it's a one-man operation on a Sunday. But the place is not that big, so if you can get in and get a table, it's worth whatever the wait is.

This is my absolute favourite coffee shop that is open late, whenever I have to work late or I’m just craving an americano late at night voodoo child has always been open. Food is always fresh and delicious and on the odd times that I do sit down it’s a very comfortable spot day or night.

Voodoo style espresso martini is one of the best in the city and worth the trip for. Ruffles and caviar was a unexpected but welcome surprise. Tight space but we got seats no problem and service was
