Stepping into Xola feels like leaving Toronto behind and entering the Xola family’s casa in Mexico. It's small, but warm and cozy, with delightful kitchen aromas.

We are very fortunate to have such an authentic Mexican restaurant in the beach neighborhood. The food is very flavourful and there are lots of choices on the menu. Last week, we had the pulpo asado with chorizo, sweet potato mash, and refried beans. The grilled pulpo was delicious as were the sides that came with it. Their guacamole was to die for . . . very vibrant and fresh.

For our main we shared chicken mole which came with rice, refried beans and tortilla shells. The depth of flavour in the mole was unbelievable, and you could tell there was extra love cooked in! It also came with a small roll . . . to mop up the mole sauce as you absolutely do not want to leave any of that gorgeous sauce behind. They also offer specials, and we had a hard time not choosing the fish that was offered that evening . . . would love to try that another time if they have it.

On a previous visit, we tried the recommended barbacoa and it was delicious; we'd happily order it again. . . after we have tried other menu items.

The portions are more than satisfactory . . . a shared appetizer and a shared main are perfect for our appetite! The Xola team is very friendly and attentive. Even if they are busy, they take the time to answer any questions and make suggestions that have resulted in us trying new dishes. Their pride in their food and culture is evident in every dish.

We highly recommend Xola. Muchísimas gracias!

Best and most authentic Mexican food in Toronto. I've been to lots of Mexican places but the taste here is unparalleled. The owner Mali is a super hardworking Mexican woman who runs it with her family. She is truly passionate about the food she serves. Right to the delicious hot sauce 🔥.
Baja fish tacos, barbacoa, cochinita pibil, sopa Azteca are some of my faves. Great margaritas and hibiscus lemonade. I brought my Mexican friend here and she loved it too! Thanks to Mali and her family for so many beautiful memories I have eating here for years.

Absolute 10/10 experience. The staff are so sweet and the food was out of this world. Try the ceviche- you will not regret it! I had the hibiscus margarita and it was SO good, could have had 10.

Went a few nights ago for small get together for a friend’s birthday. Restaurant looks cute, but the food all tastes and smells funky and not in a good way. It smells and tastes like wet dog. The servers are very abrupt and one of them was extremely horribly rude to a friend of mine - making inappropriate comments. Never going back and actively will tell my friends to avoid it. There are so many better more authentic restaurants in the city.

Having recently been to Mexico City, we were craving authentic flavours, this place is hits the spot! The only thing is we wish that they had the Mexican prices, ha! But we get it, Toronto is expensive to exist in. Price aside, the dishes were amazing, especially that mole!

Our server was lovely and sweet and took the time to walk us through the menu and give us a bit of history to the place. Will definitely be back!

Came here for 2 meals and 1 drink, paid over $100 - very overpriced for the quality and atmosphere that it was not justifiable.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was also filthy, dirty surface, and especially the bathroom.
Small portion and the Barbacoa was so salty, that it was not enjoyable.
We would not come back and
