I have been coming to Yumei for 30yrs, with my daughters since they were toddlers. Never disappoints. We love Chef Lee, such a gracious man and now his wonderful son is the chef. The food and service have always been exemplary. ??????????????????

The owner and staff are all very friendly, and most of all, the food is really, really delicious. They make it right when you order it, so it goes without saying that it's fresh. The sashimi is very large and the amount of rice is small, so it's the best balance. If you're looking for omakase-quality sushi in Toronto, be sure to visit here! The atmosphere of the restaurant is also nice to enjoy quietly.

Yumei Sushi! We have been coming here for 4+ years and really have never had a bad order from this neighbourhood staple. I like to go with the SS3 or chefs special when I order. My wife will the ss7. We love this place and will always come back for

I’ve been going to this sushi restaurant for years, and they never disappoint. Their sushi is incredible (the white tuna maki is my favourite), and whenever I want a delicious & filling meal I get one of their box specials or dolsot bibimbap. Highly recommend!

We called ahead for reservation, got there got our table and drinks and then proceeded to wait 2 hours for our food, when it came it was not the usual. Our bill came and they didn't even have the decency to take care of the drinks. Uber eats was busy, nice to see they look after phone customers and not the ones that called for reservations.Customer lost.

I'm not a sushi expert, but as an Asian who studied high-end sushi bar, I leave a reviewIt's a normal Japanese restaurant and there may be very few mistakes on delivery or tempura parts.High-end sushi was not popular in Canada so chef couldn't focus on Omacase menu because lack of customer needs. But his skill is enough and Currently, there is menu for it.I think the mistakes in delivery and tempura are due to the feature of the restaurant business industry, so people are changed frequently in basic cook parts. If you complain to the chef, he'll fix it.Here's my comment on sushiThe basic of sushi is Shari which is suchi rice, and you can know the chef's skills in aging fish. His shari seeks to harmonize the sweet, salty, sour taste and shows a little bit of sour taste adjusted to suit the popular Canadian taste rather than authentic high-and-sushi, which has a strong sour taste.I recommend Maki to beginners in sushi. If a person who likes spicy, sweet, and salty tastes a makki, it will be hard to be satisfied with just one I think the chef knows what popular flavor the people likes because of his long career. The technique of Japanese chef is to express the color, aroma, and taste of fish well after aging at a certain temperature for some time.Salmon is matured well, so it expresses the soft texture and delicate taste well. The tuna here has been appropriately brought out to the point where enthusiasts who enjoy the taste of iron love it. If it's below the maturity level, it won't taste good, and if it's above the maturity level, the acidity is strong and it's hard to find the meaning of aging. The market for omakase is starting in Canada. If demand increases, the price of food increases, and more expensive ingredients are available at Yumei, Yumei has enough ability of switching to Omakase restaurant. You might think it's a small difference that's no different from ordinary Japanese food. The rich people who read this review will understand that they have to pay a lot for the samll difference.Since there is a limit to the delivery, I recommend you visit and taste it in resturant.Chef Young's food will not only satisfy your mouth but will also care your heart.

We ordered takeout which we picked up because there weren’t many Japanese restaurants open past 9pm. The food was good, good quality and prepared well. Our only complaint is how expensive the order was. We paid 57$ plus tax and tip for the food in the attached photo; mixed Tempura, Unagi roll, sashimi and a pop. I had to reduce my order because I originally order this plus 2 miso soups and a dragon roll and the order was going to be 78$ plus tax

I have been going here for the better part of 23 years now. I am not sure why I haven’t left a review until now but today the owner and master Chef did something for me that was amazing. As I had finished and paid for my meal I left my booth to use the restroom. As soon as Chef Lee saw me leave the booth he waved to me and on my way back I stopped and asked him about a dish they used to serve maybe 15-18 years ago. It was a spicy salad that has since been removed from the menu. It was my literal favourite and the thing that got me hooked on this restaurant.Chef Lee told me he will make me a complimentary salad to see if it’s what I remember. So I went back to the table and told my friends we can’t leave yet.The server then brought over a small salad with the spicy dressing like many years ago. I was so happy and then the Chef told me that if it’s not too busy next time I come in he will make the dish for me.It was so nice that he recognized me as a valued customer and took the time to make me something he knew I liked.I am a customer for life at Yumei Sushi. Thank you Chef Lee ??Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians consisting of veggies and tofu

Food here is always delicious. I love how the sushi chefs say farewell so loudly and cheerfully when you leave. Sushi restaurants come and go in the Beach, but this place has been around and is always reliable.

Spent over $200 for dinner and honestly, none of the items stood out. Very bland. Especially expensive was the Shrimp Tempura. We received 2 pieces of shrimp tempura with 3 veggie tempuras for $22.00!!! 2 pieces of shrimp! Only giving it 1-star as the site won't let me post zero stars.

it is worse experience, going never do oder again. That’s how looks like 25$ oder in this place . Quality of ingredients really low. Better order 7$ sushi set in Walmart than Yumei Sushi .
