Went here for Christmas dinner, it was really good. We shared the chicken karaage, Gonzalez, wagyu sushi and the torched salmon. We enjoyed every dish. Would recommend for authentic Japanese cuisine.
This place has become my favourite Izakaya in Toronto! The food reminds me of the food I had in Japan, and the omurice is the best omurice I’ve ever had in Toronto!! Our server, Bomyi, was so attentive and friendly and made the experience so comforting and pleasant!!! She really stood out to me. I highly recommend this Izakaya to everyone - and make sure to check out their Sunday omurice special!!

Authentic Japanese restaurant. Food tastes great overall. They have limited menu options as this Izakaya mostly for drinks. We went on a weekend night and it got busier later in the night. Chicken Karaage and Saba Yakimeshi are phenomenal. We tried all 3 dessert options on the menu. I love Matcha Ice Cream most but you can never go wrong with any of those. Staffs are very nice and accommodating. Nice vibe too.

Finally tried Yuugi Izakaya and really enjoyed it.
The fried dishes were excellent, the wagyu fried rice was generous, and the age pan ice cream was a standout. Great service and a fun spot for comfort food — would come back.

Booked a reservation at this wonderful spot for a team event, with 15 people in attendance. The manager, Eddie, was lovely to correspond with over email, and together with the chef, they curated a set menu (with a budget provided) for our event. They were very mindful of attendees with dietary restrictions, and ensured that the menu gave a variety of the dishes, while having more than enough options for our vegetarian attendees to enjoy as well.
Large group events are usually a headache to plan, but Eddie and the team at Yuugi Izakaya made the experience as smooth and as stress-free as possible - Both before the event itself, and while we were seated at the restaurant. Everyone in our team had a great time, with people mentioning how good the food and drinks were throughout the evening. Definitely recommend this spot, and will be back to enjoy more of the good food and drinks they have here!

Nice affordable spot with good but limited menu options. Hayashi poutine and chicken karaage were great! Yuugi sushi & wagyu sushi were good but not amazing.

Tataki and sushi were so good! Couple dishes were a bit too greasy and the restaurant vibe was good except the air freshener scent was way too intense and overpowering.

I booked for a large party with manager Eddy via email, and they were so accommodating with the amount of people and the team provided such a great dinner experience. The food was great and we all enjoyed the selection. I look forward to visiting them again in the future.

We came across Baldwin Street during lunch time and found this Izakaya. They have a lunch menu that surprised us and we ordered the Australian Wagu beef Japanese fried rice (Yakimeshi) and Curry Udon. The fried rice is different with chewy fried rice texture. The curry Udon may be a Hokkaido style of soup Udon. Both of them were delicious. The nice surprise was the Banana Tempura. It came with a scoop of ice cream and sprinkled with frozen blueberry and whipped cream. They have happy hours, weekday special and Sunday omurice special. We will definitely come back in the near future to try.
