Shawaya chicken was good, the only thing I did not like is the rice. Rice was really oily.

Zafoon Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The food is simply exceptional — every dish bursting with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection.

The Beef Mandi is easily the star of the show — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with aromatic spices that make every bite unforgettable. The Chicken Shawaya is another standout, grilled to perfection with a beautiful smoky flavor and just the right balance of spice. And if you’re craving something crispy and bold, the Spicy Broast is hands down the best in town — crunchy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor.

Zafoon has quickly become my go-to spot for comfort food and authentic Middle Eastern taste. Generous portions, great service, and unbeatable quality — truly a five-star experience every time!

Dropped by Zafoon Middle Eastern Restaurant and had a pretty good time. We ordered the Shawaya Chicken with Rice (half) and the Spicy Infused Broasted Chicken. The Shawaya Chicken came with three types of rice: Spicy Red Rice, Kabuli Rice, and Dill Rice. I was really into the Spicy Red Rice, and my friend enjoyed the Kabuli Rice. Neither of us cared much for the Dill Rice, though. But hey, all the sauces they served were on point and really added to the meal.

They also gave us complimentary Plain Lamb Soup and Lentil Soup, which was a nice touch. Our server, Farhan, turned out to be the owner, and he was super friendly and made us feel right at home.

Overall, Zafoon offers tasty food, great sauces, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth checking out!

Update (7 months later): Returned recently and was pleasantly surprised! Both the Shawaya Chicken with Spicy Red Rice (half) and the Spicy Infused Broasted Chicken tasted even better than before. The broasted chicken is now served with pita bread on the side, which was a great addition. Ended the meal with a Kadak Chai that was perfectly made… strong, flavourful, and well-balanced. The service continues to be great and consistent.

Overall, Zafoon continues to offer tasty food, great sauces, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out (or revisiting)!

I would like to clarify to all friends and valued guests that I left Zafoon restaurant several months ago. Despite this, I still receive many messages from people asking about my absence.
It is important for me to note that I was the creator of Zafoon’s first menu, a menu that was widely appreciated and allowed me to serve dishes with genuine love and passion — something I take great pride in as part of my culinary journey.

I would also like to clarify that there are two main dishes that were not part of my original menu: the grilled chicken and the fried chicken, so that everyone has a clear understanding.

I sincerely wish the management and team of Zafoon all the best in their work, and I want to thank everyone who continues to support me in my future endeavors.

I tried the shawaya chicken with rice, and it was a flavor explosion,perfectly cooked rice infused with rich spices and incredibly tender, well-seasoned chicken. The food alone is worth the visit, but what truly sets Zafoon apart is the warm hospitality. The service was top-notch, and every staff member was friendly and attentive. Fahad, the owner, personally welcomed us and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and takes pride in every detail. I’m already planning my next visit, can’t wait to explore the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!

Best Mandi in Toronto A Must-Try!
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Tried the beef Mandi, chicken Mandi, and shawaya chicken and every single dish was phenomenal. The flavors were rich, the meat was tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The beef Mandi was the standout for me incredibly flavorful and juicy but honestly, everything we ordered was 5 out of 5.
The service was also excellent friendly, quick, and welcoming. If you're looking for authentic and delicious Mandi in Toronto, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!
