super delicious but quite pricey, the zakkushi draft was actually super yummy for being the cheapest of the beer. food doesnt fill well cause the portion size but staff was very friendly! Max bills they can give are 2 bills, so be ready to pay for the group on one bill.

A few weeks back after a busy work week, my daughter and I experienced the very unique and authentic experience of a true Japanese izakaya (tapas and drinks restaurant) right on Queen Street West in Toronto.

Right from the warm friendly greeting, and the lively atmosphere (where orders, special directions, and greetings are called out in Japanese by the servers, and cooks in the open kitchen), we knew that we were in for a special night.

I have been to many Izakayas in my life - both in Toronto and in Japan. Zakkushi is a pretty solid choice, especially if you’re coming with a group of friends.

The skewers were delicious and the platters allowing you to sample a variety of skewers are a great first choice to help you decide what you want more of.

The drink selection was also excellent! Will be coming back if I am in the area again.
