I had the kakiage udon (vegetable + shrimp tempura). I think they only used one piece of shrimp in the tempura because there wasn’t much. It was mostly fried batter. The udon itself didn’t blow me away but it was good. The green tea they serve is also good. It’s a nice place for a simple & hearty meal. I would come back if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
No complaints about this udon restaurant which we come often. They made their own udon and it tastes wonderful. We ordered a tofu, a pork belly udon and yuzu chicken udon. They didn’t disappoint. Note that because the food quality is high so their prices are on the high side (~$25-$30 for a udon).
This is probably the ONLY place that reminds me of Japan when I was there in 2015. I still come here regularly and yes it is recommended to get a reservation. Food is just absolutely tasty. Noodles and broth are both made in house.
