Cool vibes , great decor . Only thing which was a turnoff was that bill already comes with 15% gratuity added to it , isn’t it illlegal to do it ?

This was my first time visiting, and while the atmosphere was great at first, the experience quickly went downhill once the service started.
We ordered chicken karaage, and what we received was burnt. When we asked the server about it, he told us “the chicken is like that because it’s cooked with sugar.” This was confusing, as traditional chicken karaage doesn’t typically include sugar in the cooking process, and it certainly shouldn’t be burnt.
On top of that, the portion sizes were quite small, and the overall service was unacceptable.
The server purposely didn’t tell us that gratuity was already included in the final bill. Most restaurants inform you ahead of time either when you're seated or on the menu, but that didn’t happen here. It felt misleading, and I almost tipped twice.
Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back or recommending this place based on this experience.

Visited on Aug 31 around 11 p.m. The female cashier provided no service but forced a 15% tip without any notice or explanation. Also the staff were just on their phones. Very disappointing.

We walked in and got a table for 4 and we had such a fun time! You order straight from your phone which we thought was really handy. We mainly drank soju but the food and other things ppl around us were ordering looked really good. The interior is also a vibe! A fun spot and would go back :)

All food and drinks ordered through a website accessible via a QR code on a light in the table. Decor was very funky, decent bar food like wings and skewers. Beer specials up to 50% off on specific nights.

The vibe is fun and the cocktails are creative & tasty, though definitely on the pricey side for what you get.
We tried the skewers (about 8–10 of them), and they had a laughably small amount of meat on them. I was expecting more of an Asian-style marinade, but they tasted like they were seasoned with cumin—not really my thing. It’s also essentially self-order, so I was surprised to see a gratuity automatically added to the bill when the servers are mostly just dropping off food and drinks.
That said, the bar itself has a great atmosphere and is a cool spot to stop in for a drink or two.

Friends recommended this spot. We arrived early and will say we were loud. Another table arrived, equally loud. Then another, also loud. And somehow it was perfect! Most places you can’t hear yourselves, non issue! Ended up chatting with the other tables.
We kept our orders pretty simple, ordering was so easy. The staff member who was hosting and serving us was amazing, and so friendly. She explained how everything worked and was smiling the whole time.
Food was great! Drinks were great! When the other tables ordered their drinks, we were definitely envious cause they looked so good, especially their presentation.
The decor and design is unique and nicely done. I’m not a picture person, tend to forget to take out my phone. But this one definitely got some pics of our little group.
Highly recommend, and suggest having fun with the menu, there is so much to choose from. Next time I won’t be a shy

Went here with one other person and got charged a 15% automatic gratuity with no notice anywhere — not on the menu, not on the ordering site, not even written at the bottom of the bill that an automatic gratuity is charged like other places have the decency to do. The server only mentioned it when she saw how hesitant I was at the bigger price than I expected. When we called, the manager said the automatic gratuity was only for parties of six or more, but when we went back, they changed their story and said it applies to everyone. So I guess if they think you are a new customer, they lure you in by lying to you that there is no automatic gratuity?
It is confusing and deceptive. There was no transparency, and we weren’t given a chance to choose the tip ourselves. This kind of thing should be made clear up front, not hidden until after the bill comes. The manager and all the staff are in on this gross practice.
I wouldn’t go back. Check your bill if you still choose to go.

I hosted my birthday with about 50 guests in the private area at Zui on Bloor and had an amazing experience! The food and drinks came out so quickly and my guests really enjoyed. We were able to bring our own DJ - we had to bring our own equipment (turntable and speakers), which is not a big deal. The staff were so attentive and able to support my party. The team here is professional and experienced in how to throw a great party!

Couldn’t make a reservation for two through their website – I think the minimum booking is for a group of four or six. That said, we had no trouble getting a table for two when we walked in on a weeknight. The dining room has plenty of seating for groups of all sizes.
They’ve got their menu available via a QR code, which you use to order directly from your table. Handy if you don’t want to flag down a server, but it doesn’t let you call for help if, say, you want the bill. The QR code is also on a little light fixture at the table that you can switch on to signal you’re open to other guests joining you – a fun idea depending on what you’re after.
We went for the 15 assorted skewers for $1 deal – which turned out to be 13 skewers, so maybe just a typo. They’re on the smaller side, but if you get enough, they’re surprisingly filling. Most of them taste pretty similar since they seem to use the same seasoning across the board. They weren’t the most flavourful skewers I’ve had, but for that price, it’s hard to complain.
There was also a half-price beer promo, which was great. The jasmine tea beer stood out – really tasty.
They automatically added a 15% tip to the bill, even though it was just the two of us. Still, considering how much food and drink we had, it ended up being really good value. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. I’d be keen to come back and try more of their menu beyond just the skewers.

Kind of a rip off. You order the food yourself from the menu on your phone, the waitresses don’t come back after you’re seated, so you do everything yourself. They sit at the bar on their phones the whole time and then when you leave they add a 15% tip to the bill automatically…… you don’t get a choice. Never heard of paying yourself a tip when you didn’t even serve anything or take any orders.

Honestly I would’ve rated this restaurant higher but the way my friends and I were treated was ridiculous. My group of friends had 2 Americans in it, and the workers decided to ID us 2 hours into us dining. For some reason, the male worker who ID’d refused to believe that my American friends’ IDs were real. They were asking unnecessary questions such as: what their business in Canada was, why they chose to visit, our relationships with one another, etc.
didn’t realize I was going through airport customs at a skewers restaurant.
We obliged to everything asked and showed him multiple secondary pieces of IDs just for him to still NOT believe us.
The interrogation process felt like such an unnecessary power trip, it genuinely ruined our experience here.
On top of that, before handing me the card machine for payment, the server chose the tipping option himself. We were not made aware of any gratuity fees beforehand so it didn’t sit right for me to be forced tip 15% after getting interrogated.
The other servers were perfectly fine, music was a bit loud (if you’re into the club vibe), the food was honestly great and reasonably priced, but this experience ruined it for me and I don’t think my friends and I will be returning to zui bar.
