Chat Bar is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxed evening out. The drink menu is fantastic, offering a wide variety of creative cocktails and local beers. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have a great experience from start to finish. I loved the laid-back vibe and the delicious small bites that pair perfectly with the drinks. Great service and attention to detail by the staff. Asked not only about allergies, but heat tolerance and confirmed the order selection before food even came out.
Every bite of food fragrant and flavourful. Highly recommend adding the "spice powder" on the side of each dish. It's very mild and mostly peanuts, sesame and cumin.
My wife and I have been craving skewers for a while, and finally decided to visit the Unionville Chat Bar to treat ourselves to a yummy dinner. We have been to several other chat bars before, but the one thing that stood out to us this time is the service! When we first arrived we were greeted with warm welcomes and a big smile by the hostess/server, Debora. Although there was a wait time for our time, she nicely guided us to the waiting area where we were able to sit and wait comfortably.
When our table was ready, Debora came over to guide us to our table and ensure we were taken care of by going through different food option recommendations and constantly attending to us throughout the night. She also noticed my wife and I had different spice levels preferences so she prepared extra spice on the side for us. It's the little things that matters! And she was very sweet and caring.
As for the food... It was great! Generally skewers are on the saltier side and because of my dietary restrictions with sodium I generally avoid them. But with the less salt option when ordering, they were able to match my dietary restrictions perfectly. And without the taste or quality of the food being compromised. So without a doubt we enjoyed the food as always, and maybe even more so than all of our prior experiences. 😊
I highly recommend this chat bar location for anyone in the area and looking for some skewers to snack on or for a full meal!

Only complaint is the seats are not that comfortable (hard wood) and depending on seating location if your are back to back with larger person you can't even get out of the space without some minor awkwardness. I was trying to get into my seat and table behind had an average size man but he was taking too much space so had to ask him to "tuck in" so I can squeeze into my seat. The legs of the seat were already touching the table and the back of the stool was against his so I couldn't get in
I ate half a bowl of malatang (spicy stew) around 7 or 8 in the evening. There was a thick layer of oil that didn't smell good at all. I started vomiting from 1:30 a.m. until 5 a.m., even throwing up bile. I'm still lying down now. My family didn't eat the malatang; they had grilled skewers and felt completely fine. But usually, I'm the healthiest one in the family. Is there a solution for this? How can you fix it? I ate half a bowl of Malatang at 7 or 8pm. The thick layer of oil is not fragrant at all. I vomited from 1:30 to 5 o'clock in the middle of the night. I vomited out all the bile and am still lying down. My family didn't eat Malatang, they only ate kebabs, so nothing happened. But I am usually the healthiest person in the family. Can this matter be solved? How to solve it? ! !

I had a disappointing experience with Chatbar when I ordered takeout. I was initially told it would only take 10 minutes, but I ended up waiting 40 minutes. Meanwhile, diners who arrived after me were seated and served their food much quicker. It felt frustrating and unfair, defeating the purpose of ordering takeout in the first place. The bbq take out I got was not warm at the moment given to me, leaving alone that I have to take home
I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food is good ! Personally I don’t like the taste of cumin, most of the Chinese bbq use a lot of them everything tasted the same. But here they use it just right in the food. Service is great I must say. Atmosphere is nice but if the music tune down a bit will be better is hard to talk and listen to others.
Went here for a team dinner. Everyone enjoyed the skewers and small plates. Service was good.
