Went to lunch today. The food was okay, but unfortunately the air conditioning wasn’t working and it was really hot inside. It was hard to enjoy the meal in that kind of environment, felt uncomfortable the whole time and just wanted to leave quickly.

Hope they can fix the A/C soon, especially during summer.

Today I went with my friends to get food at this restaurant. Food was alright but the utensils could be cleaner.

Speaking on the service for this restaurant, the lady at the cash was being exceptionally rude to me out of the friends I was with. I tried paying with my card first and tried tipping 15% but that didn’t go through. So, I paid with cash instead. I was starting to leave, but then she started to point at the receipt aggressively demanding me to tip. This made me very uncomfortable in front of friends and sour our moods. This made me super flustered and felt the obligation to tip a large amount.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of trying the Hai Nam Chicken Rice.

First and foremost, the chicken looked like it had been hastily chopped up without any attention to presentation or quality. There was no skin, which is such a critical component of this dish that adds flavor and texture. Instead, I received a sad assortment of leftover chicken pieces that felt more like scraps than a thoughtfully prepared meal. It lacked the care and dedication that one would hope to find in a dish that is celebrated for its simplicity.

I cannot recommend getting takeout from this restaurant. If you do decide to give it a try, I strongly suggest double-checking your order before you leave

Rice was fine but the noodle was pretty terrible. I chose pig liver for my noodles and it was still red inside. The flavour was too strong I cannot finish those.

I wanted to pay by cash but they refused to accept it because it was damage a little bit. Just a corner.

I often dine in at the restaurant, and I’ve never heard of being charged for a takeaway container just to pack up leftovers when dining in. Today was truly surprising and disappointing, it was charged 0.30 cents for a single takeaway box. That means if we can't finish our food, we just have to waste it instead of taking it home?

What really upset me was that the table next to me asked for takeaway boxes and cups for drinks, and they weren’t charged anything. I even asked them whether they had to pay for their containers, they said no. So what does that mean? Different customers get different treatment? This kind of practice is really disgusting .

As a restaurant, charging container for dine-in customers extra just to pack up leftover food . Honestly so ridiculous and disgusting.

It's nothing spectacular. Typical HK style cafe. Lots of variety and mediocre dishes at affordable prices

Food is not as good as their Kennedy location. No wok air. But staff is friendly and place is spacious.

2025 May 3.5★
Offering good value and lots of seating, this restaurant offers many food choices.
From stew, fried, baked, sizzling, there's certainly something for everyone who like Chinese style asian cooking.
Great for large groups.
黒版牛扒薯條 11.45 pretty good, though the meat is thinner. Given the price, not surprising.
牛腩麵 11.45
Ok. Though the bowl was a bit smaller.
蜜糖雞翼限菩條 6 12.45
Pretty good and pretty juicy.
陳皮鴨湯麵 17.45
Not bad. Not many places make this and if you like duck, it's a good option.
局豬扒 14.95
Pretty typical. Not bad.
星洲炒米 13.95
Pretty typical. Not bad.
Takeout containers are 30¢ each. So try to finish everything.

Offers good choice foods. Lots of variety. Pretty much all chinese. Since this place is big, it's great for groups. I think we only come here as a group.

Not bad not bad. There's wokhei, will come back to try other dishes. Ample parking, ample seating, looks great after the reno. The space now is split up where one side is the cafe, other is mala soup. The service people are nice and kind.

We came only because Ming's was under reno... We came to this location a long long time ago and found it to be subpar, long waits for food, service people with attitudes etc. Now that we've tried this place now, Ming's and Joy Noodle - JN is the most subpar imo.
