La Grotta on Main

This was my fourth visit to La Grotto, and as always, it was a delight. Sebastian, the owner, welcomed us with his trademark warmth and easy conversation. The bruschetta was fresh and perfectly seasoned, while the veal and shrimp mains were beautifully cooked. The ambience remains one of my favourite things about this place — cozy, comfortable, and full of charm. Consistently excellent food and service keep me coming back.

Thank you. It's nice to get to a restaurant where you get everything all in one the ambience, the wonderful food the service. After the pandemic, things changed a lot in the catering world. It's just so nice to see that La Grotta somewhere where I would like to come again. The most enjoyable evening.

took half way through the meal to get a napkin. Their Calabrese risotto is an insult to risotto's. Risotto should be creamy. This was just cooked rice. The description on the menu said spicy. There was barely any salt and no spice. And they charge 32 dollars for it. I will never go to this place again. would rather go to McDonalds

Sebastian is a fantastic host. He always takes good care of us and our guests, making it a great dining experience. The food is so fresh and delicious. We love our visit every time.

First time visiting this place - we had a great time there with our children - very polite people, good food and uplifting Italian music. Very good pizza, pasta and gelato!

We’ve been coming here for years and have never had a disappointing meal. Sebastian is always so warm and welcoming.

We just had our anniversary dinner here, and the food was excellent, as always. The chilli oil they serve with their bread is to die for. We had the grilled calamari to start, which was both seasoned and cooked perfectly. My husband always orders the gnocchi (he adds an extra half-portion because he likes it so much). I usually oscillate between the risotto options- I had the mushroom one this time. Delicious, but took half home to save room for the two desserts: crème brûlée and the brownie martini.

The meal cost us under $200 including tip, which isn’t unreasonable for Unionville. Maybe people have forgotten that grocery inflation has skyrocketed over the past few years and that’s why I’ve seen so many complaints about pricing. There have also been complaints about portion sizes, but we’re two people who LOVE to eat and have never gone home hungry.

Not sure why there are bad reviews, this is Markham not Yorkville. For the price its much better than il postino. I come here once a month with my fiancee Nalika. She is super fussy but she loves the pizzas here. I stick with seafood pasta- never fails. They even grow their own herbs, they are good at gardening and cooking! Service is attentive and the patio is relaxing. Keep it up, this place is top of the line.

Came back with my gf again for the ossobucco and Lamb , it was delightful. Service again was attentive . Love their decor everywhere annd they do cigars annd girls night out too . Our dinner was delightful. Came with my gf for her bday and it was amazing . We both enjoyed our food and service. Beautiful decor and ambience They do private functions too so I booked my bf bday in July. You must try this cozy family Italian restaurant
