We just left (July 9) and had amazing service and food. Wish I grabbed servers name, she was awesome. We had the cabbage rolls to start and it was amazing sauce. I had the goulash and it was great. I’ve never had dumplings before!

I was in today with a party of 10.
The food was fantastic. If you love German or Austrian food this is authentic as you can get.
The ambiance was great, so were the staff.
Down fall is that the main rd is under construction. It’s best to come in at the south end of town and turn left and turn right behind the laneway and then follow the the to the end and park. Then walk over between the two buildings and on the left is the stairs into the old Country Inn.

Even with the construction it was still worth every bite.
The consensus of the other nine people is a perfect 10 out of 10

This is a family favourite spot.
My recommendation is the jager schnitzel with an additional side of spaetzle

Best Austrian food in the region. Have been here many a time and will be back many a time more. The schnitzel is fantastic. Outstanding Austrian desserts.

Wow. This place was like a dream. I felt like I was in a Central European countryside estuary. Outstanding in every way possible.

Not exactly Hungarian but close. More German like fare.

Had an amazing lunch experience here on a Saturday afternoon. Warm and welcoming dining room with big natural skylight creates a great atmosphere! You gotta have the Viennese coffee and any of the schnitzels.. they're extremely generous portions. Service was lovely as well, very charming place.

After we’d been there for about two hours (we were a group), the manager actually told the waitress to take the dessert menu away from our table. Merry Christmas! I’ve never seen anything like that in Canada. The waitress looked embarrassed, but not the manager. To top it off, the food and drinks were both subpar.

Absolutely ridiculous!!! Originally called for a Sunday lunch reservation and was told they could not accommodate, then I asked can we do a takeout order instead. Great, please call Sunday morning and we will make it happen. I called Sunday morning and now is being told that they can only accommodate 5:30pm pick up - then please do not set expectations that you cannot meet.

Older place ... Good food and variety of schnitzel choices. A bit pricy but honest home cooked vibe

I recently hosted my bachelor party at Old Country Inn. I was looking for a good schnitzel restaurant, ideally Austrian. There are surprisingly few places in Toronto/GTA these days that meet that description, but fortunately Old Country Inn is one of them.

The restaurant is located in the quaint town of Unionville, located in a house built back in 1872. The place has lots of charm which is fortunately matched by the quality of the food.

I had a goulash soup and Jager schnitzel. Both were really tasty and substantive. I have eaten a lot of good schnitzel in my time, including at Figlmüller in Vienna, and Old Country Inn does an excellent iteration. The staff and management are all also really friendly and accommodating.

This is a great restaurant, definitely worth checking out if you want to try Austrian food, a good schnitzel, and/or a night out in Unionville.
