Don’t sleep on this spot!!! Best fish and chips I’ve had in the GTA area, and definitely in Markham (sorry McCowan’s Fish & Chips haha)… it’s a humble little spot with great quality food and huge portion sizes. One meal could easily feed 2 adults. Would avoid the brisket though, it’s a bit dry. Looking forward to try their breakfast omelette and poutine. They do take an incredibly long time to cook and serve but its worth the wait. Their potato game is on point!
Small homemade style (mom & pop) style small restaurant. I usually stop by here for lunch once in a while as they serve all day breakfast here, which us one of my favorite places to get all day breakfast. I haven't tried other foods here as I so far have always had breakfast for lunch here.
Breakfast joint that makes a quick breakfast with straight up cooking.
Super friendly & great food. Can’t complain. Thanks!
This is a very old school diner with a very small space. I ordered a classic eggs benedict which came with 3 eggs on a english muffin with hand cut peameal bacon and some home made griddle cooked home fries. The hollandaise sauce was a bit disappointing as it was somewhat lumpy and overly thick and goopy. The taste also was also kind of bland. The english muffin also did not have the texture of a typical english muffin and felt more like a pancake feel, very soft and somewhat crumbly. All in all not what I expected of an eggs benedict.
Great food, great prices, great cooks!
Yummy little local breakfast place! Huge portions
- Food is excellent especially for the cost!!
- The guy server/cook seems to be a pleasant fellow too
- A little difficult to find, but well worth it!
- Good coffee
- Brisket sandwich is really good!
- Very reasonable for pricing for what you get!
Bathroom could use a little work at this timing , and some fresh paint on the walls wouldn't hurt
Overall:
If in Markham and you want homestyle cooking, I suggest this place, I had the brisket and it was delicious, perfectly done!
Parking: Not many spaces and shared with other businesses, but I had no trouble finding a spot

The omelette and eggs Benny breakfast for 2 people came up to $65 plus tip.
The omelette was a steak and chicken omelette, the steak was really really tough. I would expect these places to tenderize and marinate the cheaper cuts of steak.
The crab cake eggs benny were definitely the highlight of breakfast. But the crab cakes were over cooked in older oil.
No real reason to come back for breakfast. In fact I will probably avoid this place.

So far I have given this establishment 5 stars for their food. Today, only HALF my order was delivered, I called and his response was “What can I do? I gave it to the delivery guy”. So he got all my money but I am out of pancakes and French toast.
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, if not Theft! How do I know if he gave the pancakes and French toasts to the delivery person or not?! THEFT!!!

I ordered a BLT on whole wheat and home fries it was amazing. The bacon wasn’t too hard or soft and made to perfection. Very, friendly and courteous.

Went here for a Sunday brunch. We got the peameal benedict and the crab cake benedict. It comes with 3 poached eggs, instead of two. The chef / owner was really sweet. He made the potatoes a little bit spicier and flavorful. The crab cakes and peameals were really tasty. The hollandaise sauce could use some improvement, but overall the food was great !

GREAT portions! Mexican Omelette bursting with ingredients and flavour! Side order or sausage, bacon and peameal was a meal in itself! Best bacon I ever had, thick peameal and tasty sausages. YUM!

Best, old fashioned “greasy spoon” restaurant I have been in in years. Good portions, good prices, very clean, and friendly chef. When my old favourite People’s Foods on St. George and Dupont closed, I was depressed for weeks. That institution was rated best greasy spoon in Toronto. If anything, Olde Village Bistro is even better. The only thing missing are booths with coin operated juke boxes.

It’s become our go-to diner spot in Unionville. Friendliest staff/owners, solid diner food, and comfy atmosphere.
Vegetarian options: The classic breakfast sans bacon.
