I used to love Terre Rouge but due to a recent experience I would never recommend this place to anyone again.

One of my close girlfriends is getting married and originally used Terre Rouge as her choice of venue & catering options and was planned for September 2025. In May 2025 Terre Rouge told her at the tasting that they will need to find a new venue as they will now be going under renovations and changing owners.

Planning a wedding is already so stressful, and to pull this type of surprise 4 months prior to the set day is not something any couple wishes to have. On top of all this their communication has gone down the drain. She would email them about adjusting some things on the catering menu and there would be no response at all. How is anyone supposed to get any planning done with this?

She finally requested for a cancellation and to retrieve her deposit as she will no longer be using their services. Guess what? They responded INSTANTLY and returned her deposit.

TL:DR, avoid avoid avoid!

Service is very, very bad. Nobody cares there.

The host presented us with a piece of paper outlining a Mother’s Day prix fixe and said that was all they were offering, no regular menu, is that okay? No it’s not okay. This info wasn’t posted on IG and their website is down. They didn’t even answer the phone earlier. “Sorry was all she said, with no remedy. The options were not interesting to us. We left deeply disappointed with the task of finding a new reservation somewhere. Thanks a lot, Terre Rouge. We won’t be back.

Food was great, service was terrible. We had the steak tartare, burrata and duck confit. It was a shame that the quality of food was not complemented by the service. We waited 20 mins before even getting a menu (which we had to ask the staff for). No server came to take our order for a further 20-30 mins and we had to call someone to receive any service. Serving staff seemed confused anytime we asked them a question. Thought initially that service was bad because of mother's day weekend and being understaffed, but later in the dinner the restaurant was pretty empty and service was still horrible. Overall, I would not recommend this place unless you really do not care about the service.

We ordered our steak medium rare, but when it arrived, it was almost medium well. When we informed the staff, he simply said, “Hmm
 not too bad.”
Did he even realize what he was saying?
Also, we waited an entire hour just to get the chowder.
If the restaurant doesn’t have the ability to handle a booking for 20 people, they should be honest and let customers know they can’t accommodate it.

Had a birthday dinner here. Food was prepared quickly and cooked to impeccably very juicy and delicious. Had many interesting appetizer items. I'd recommend steaks it seemed undercooked at first but it does not eat as it looks. Would come back to try other menu items as well.

The decor in this place was very cute. I would say they could ditch the table cloths as they were a weird material and fix the hospital lighting they got going on in there which is clashing poorly with the warm lights. Food was average - pretty sure the fries were Costco fries. Server was polite!

This is very fine dining experience in q two stories establishment. The food quality is on par with 5 stars hotel. This place is usually not very busy, and they don't blast loud music like many other steak house or restaurant. You can have meaning conversation with family, loved one, or friends over a quality meal.

We chose this place for a small company gathering and really enjoyed the atmosphere — cozy, stylish, and perfect for a relaxing evening. Everyone was very happy with the food; each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Great service and a lovely experience overall!

Terre Rouge truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The dim lighting, tasteful decor, and gentle background music created the perfect setting for a relaxing and intimate dinner. The food, however, was the true star of the evening. We started with the beef tartare, which was nothing short of exceptional—fresh, delicately seasoned, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Every bite was smooth and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Then came the highlight: the steak. Cooked to absolute perfection, it had a beautifully seared crust and a juicy, tender center bursting with rich, smoky flavors. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Beyond the incredible food, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that we had an unforgettable experience. Terre Rouge is not just a restaurant; it's a place where flavors, ambiance, and hospitality come together seamlessly. I can't wait to return!

Dining at Terre Rouge was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm and stylish ambiance—elegant yet comfortable, with just the right touch of sophistication. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the food. The beef tartare was exquisite—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and wonderfully balanced in texture and flavor. It was easily one of the best I've ever had. Then came the steak, and it was simply outstanding. Cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a tender, juicy center, every bite was packed with deep, rich flavors that left us wanting more. Service was just as exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. It's rare to find a place that excels in both atmosphere and cuisine, but Terre Rouge delivers on all fronts. If you love great steaks and refined flavors, this is a must-visit. Looking forward to our next visit already!

The elegant decor, dim lighting, and soft background music set the perfect mood for a relaxing evening. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the food. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with rich, smoky flavors. Every bite was pure bliss. On top of that, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. It truly felt like a special experience from start to finish. My friend and I finally caved and tried Terre Rouge in Markham after like, *everyone* on Instagram wouldn't shut up about it. Spoiler: It's legit—but in a “cool, no-pressure” kind of way. The spot's got this laid-back rustic feel—brick walls, chill music, and an open kitchen where you can spy on the chefs tossing pans around. We grabbed a table by the window, and our server was awesome—no snootiness, just solid recommendations. I ordered some lemon gin cocktail that tasted like a spa day in a glass. We went all-in and split the charcuterie board first. Salty meats, weird-but-good pickled cucumbers, and this mustard that slapped harder than it needed to. For mains, I got the **duck confit**—crispy skin, tender meat, and this fig glaze that had me shamelessly wiping the plate with bread. My friend's **steak** was so perfectly cooked (like, *butter-soft* medium-rare) Dessert was mandatory, so we swapped the usual chocolate thing for **crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e**. Best. Decision. Ever. That crackly sugar top? Perfect. The custard underneath? Creamy vanilla heaven. We basically scraped the bowl clean. 100% returning.

Terre Rouge delivered nothing short of a flawless French dining symphony. Every element—from the thoughtfully curated vintage decor to the artistic plating—exuded Parisian elegance at its finest. The service team moved with polished precision, while the chef's modern reinterpretation of French classics left us in awe (the signature duck dish's layered textures and the soufflĂ©'s impeccable execution were true masterstrokes). The extensive wine list offered inspired pairings, and the pacing of courses was choreographed to perfection. Whether celebrating milestones or simply pursuing culinary excellence, this is a destination-worthy gastronomic temple—we're already planning our return for their seasonal tasting menu
