Decent food and good service. However if you are looking for a chill place to get some breakfast be warned that some patrons think 7:30 am is the perfect time for loud obnoxious conversations that everyone can hear.

I can't believe I never knew of this place sooner!
The food was an very simple and represented great value as a diner establishment.
I also was surprised to see the add-on of maple syrup for 2-3$ was an entire can! If you wanted to, you can just have it all yourself.
The owners are also great too!

For the price we paid we got a great meal, even though the breakfast cook probably needs some training on how to cook eggs… Service was good and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We will come again

We went there on the weekend having heard good things. I suppose that it depends what you get on the menu. Both our soft boiled eggs were hard, the smoked meat was the as thick as the peameal and very greasy. The potatoes were ok but bland and the baked beans very peppery which killed the taste of the sauce (and they didn't tell us the sauce was spicy). The prices were decent but if we were to return, we would stay awayf from a few things. Shame really, i had high hopes.

Again, I went for breakfast. I was met by a rude woman at the counter when I paid. I’m quite disappointed.

I'm so stoked to have found this place for breakfast. I was looking for a place that served waffles & maple syrup (which oddly enough is hard to find in Ottawa). The food was amazing, the waffles were crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside, & for $2, they'll give you a can of organic maple syrup. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress (I wish I had gotten her name) was really sweet & funny. I highly, highly recommend Fontenelle Diner for breakfast/brunch. I would come back & eat here in a heartbeat.
