I was visiting Ottawa for work and couldn't find a donair place anywhere. Ended up settling on this Pizzeria.
Ordered via Skip. The Skip service was great, the restaurant not so much.
I did make a mistake and said "meat, cheese, and pita bread only" when it didn't come with cheese. No big deal. The restaurant wrote that on my receipt. That's fine, I wasn't sure if it came with cheese but I wanted to include in-case.
However, my order instructions also said no veggies or sauce. Both donairs ordered had plenty of sauce. I found it very humourous that they were so worried about writing no cheese on my receipt that they skipped the very simple instructions.
Thankfully Skip returned my money, though to Skip credits. I will not order from here again.

The worse pizza I’ve ever eaten and I grew up in a pizzeria and made them since the 70s. How do people give this place a high rating. It was cold hardly any sauce, the dough seemed like it came from a freezer and it was tasteless. I ask for easy on the cheese and I don’t think they put any cheese. Never again.

I ordered from here on Skip and got the free small fries offer with my order. To my surprise, the fries were far from small, as I received a comically large bag full of fries. It's the little things like this, man... good stuff. And the pizza was killer too.

Lorenzo’s has been my go to place since I moved to the area 5 years ago. I’ve tried pretty much all the pizza joints within a 5km radius of my place. Some were good and others, not so much. Lorenzo’s was hands down the best in the area except maybe for Tangerine on Cummings where the pizza is AMAZING, but oh sooo expensive.
I hadn’t ordered pizza for a while, so I decided to do that today. I ordered my usual medium Lorenzo’s Special (mushrooms, olives, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and bacon), with extra cheese. I was sure the Lorenzo’s Special had pepperoni on it as well, but apparently not. A special with no pepperoni? Since when? I’ve been ordering the same pizza for 5 years, and I only now noticed there’s no pepperoni on it? Strange.
Pepperoni aside, to say that I was disappointed is an understatement. The crust was chewy and a little underbaked, and the top was overbaked and too brown. I expect some browning, but not so much that it turns the cheese into hard rubber. How does that even happen? The green peppers were sliced so thinly that they just about dissolved as soon as I took a bite, the tomatoes were non-existent and I don’t recall even tasting any olives.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, the cheese…the cheese. I ordered extra cheese and what I got looked like less than regular cheese. I have never gotten a pizza from Lorenzo’s or any place else in the area that was as thin as this one. A chef’s special with extra cheese should NOT be barely 1cm thick. But this one WAS.
I gave Lorenzo’s another chance last year when my pizza arrived all bent out of shape and stuck to the top of the box. I blame the delivery driver for that and it never happened again, so I kept ordering from them. Today was the last time. Never again. Before tax and tip, I paid $38 for a medium pizza, which is already a lot to begin with. With tax and tip, that pizza cost me almost $50. What I got wasn’t worth half that. I don’t do pizza chains because what they sell isn’t pizza, it’s sauce and cheese on cardboard. But after today’s experience with Lorenzo’s, I think I could have gotten a better pizza at Little Caesars or Papa John’s.
I don’t know if they hired a new cook or if the place is under new management but quite frankly, I don’t care. I’m not taking another chance. I’ll be ordering my pizza elsewhere from now on. And that’s too bad…because when you lose one longtime customer who recommends your place to everyone who asks, you lose a lot more. Do better, Lorenzo’s.
