We love this place!
We have been to this restaurant multiple times, and it never disappoints! The food is consistently delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It's one of our favorite spots to dine, and I can't recommend it enough! Ask for the patacones :))

DELICIOUS!!! A combination of plantain and meat (or vegetarian) you can’t go wrong with. It is a sizeable meal that will leave anyone stuffed and wanting more. But save some room for the delicious churros! Muy rico!

Hi! I've been coming to this restaurant for years, before it was even Soca / The Plantain Cartel. I can confidently say it's never been better. The owner is kind, the food is incredible, & the atmosphere is always warm & welcoming. Definitely up there in terms of $, but worth it every time. Thank you again for your hospitality. Muchas gracias!

Vegetarian options: I ate the kale Cesar. Very fulfilling!

Dietary restrictions: I'm pescatarian and this menu was perfect for me. I had half a dozen oyesters from PEI. The mignonette, and red sauce was very well done. Thanks!

Parking: You can park up front (about 3 spots) or the side streets to the left and right or behind the building.

I ordered the vegetarian and it was good. My friend ordered a steak medium, but it was rubbery, old and rare. She was shy and I asked the server for her to tell him it wasn't good and he didn't apologize. He said you have to tell me first before you ate most of it. He still offered either to get another or different order but with attitude. She was too nice and said it's okay, forget it. We paid our bills, he gave my friend a 2% discount but forced her to give him an 18% tip. He didn't tell us to have a good day and still didn't apologize. Gave the cold shoulder and no smile or have a good evening. Will not return for misbehaving. He might have been the owner too.

The quality of isn't too appealing. The worst part, the service we received wasn't up to servicing customers. Giving attitude to your clients isn't the way of doing business, especially in the hospitality industry. Also, taking a long time to service plantain base dishes isn't rocket science. Honestly, wouldn't recommend this place

The veggie plantain sandwich is excellent. The service is not. Twice in a row I've wanted to order one and been told they were out of plantains (around 2pm on weekday) or were no longer taking orders (6pm on a Saturday), the latter by the same employee who remembered not having been able to serve me the first time.

This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I ordered the cod plantain sandwich and guava and pistachio de leches for dessert. Great atmosphere, wonderful food!

Food was really good and service was amazing. However $28 for a sandwhich is just crazy! Wait for the 50% deals like I did! Much more worth it that way!

Ordered 40$ worth of food on uber eats and it tasted horrible. The potatoes seemed undercooked and tasted weird and the beef plantain also did not taste good. Do not be fooled by the ingredients like I was. Food went in the trash and I ordered something else.

I had a good experience at the Plantain Cartel. Even though the food, the cocktails and the atmosphere were good I found that the prices are higher now compared to before. I think that charging $28 for a plantain now seems a bit overpriced.

Service was exceptionally good. A bit expensive but very tasteful and made with high quality ingredients.

Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options like the Plantain sandwiches, plantain bandera or the beetroot salad

I dined here for lunch a few weeks ago. When discussing the menu, the server (who also owns the restaurant) told me the plantain sandwich was gluten free. When it arrived, I noted that the plantains were fired and asked if they had been in the fryer. When asked if gluten ingredients go in the fryer, he said yes. That, by definition, means that the meal isn't gluten free. he then made a big deal over me not confirming that I have celiac disease (which I only did on receiving the fried food). In my opinion, if you serve food, you shouldn't claim something is gluten free unless it truly is - regardless of what the customer has offered up. I wouldn't be so bothered except the EXACT same thing happened to me at the owner's other restaurant -SOCA only a few months ago. (I didn't realize it was the same place when I booked).

I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the beef patacon and it was just perfect. The service and the ambience were amazing. Great place to meeting with friends and family.
