The veggie plantain sandwich is excellent. The service is not. Twice in a row I've wanted to order one and been told they were out of plantains (around 2pm on weekday) or were no longer taking orders (6pm on a Saturday), the latter by the same employee who remembered not having been able to serve me the first time.

This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I ordered the cod plantain sandwich and guava and pistachio de leches for dessert. Great atmosphere, wonderful food!

Food was really good and service was amazing. However $28 for a sandwhich is just crazy! Wait for the 50% deals like I did! Much more worth it that way!

Ordered 40$ worth of food on uber eats and it tasted horrible. The potatoes seemed undercooked and tasted weird and the beef plantain also did not taste good. Do not be fooled by the ingredients like I was. Food went in the trash and I ordered something else.

I had a good experience at the Plantain Cartel. Even though the food, the cocktails and the atmosphere were good I found that the prices are higher now compared to before. I think that charging $28 for a plantain now seems a bit overpriced.

Service was exceptionally good. A bit expensive but very tasteful and made with high quality ingredients.Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options like the Plantain sandwiches, plantain bandera or the beetroot salad

I dined here for lunch a few weeks ago. When discussing the menu, the server (who also owns the restaurant) told me the plantain sandwich was gluten free. When it arrived, I noted that the plantains were fired and asked if they had been in the fryer. When asked if gluten ingredients go in the fryer, he said yes. That, by definition, means that the meal isn't gluten free. he then made a big deal over me not confirming that I have celiac disease (which I only did on receiving the fried food). In my opinion, if you serve food, you shouldn't claim something is gluten free unless it truly is - regardless of what the customer has offered up. I wouldn't be so bothered except the EXACT same thing happened to me at the owner's other restaurant -SOCA only a few months ago. (I didn't realize it was the same place when I booked).

I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the beef patacon and it was just perfect. The service and the ambience were amazing. Great place to meeting with friends and family.

The restaurant is nice. I was surprised that the beet salad was so sweet that it tasted like dessert. I was disappointed that the plantains were cut so thin that is was like I was eating potato chips. The server has an excellent knowledge of the menu. I can't I understand why they sat another table right next to mine when the restaurant was empty.

Good spot for a fast, rather less common menu (which is refreshing). Good, quiet atmosphere yet you felt as though you had sufficient background noise to keep conversations private.

Highly recommend for a weekend lunch! My friend and I really like everything about this place. The atmosphere was on point and had an elegant vibe. The food was absolutely delicious- with lots of Latin American spices, flavours and flare. I had the pulled pork and wow was that a sandwich. I also liked that it was keto friendly. The staff were knowledgable and also made some great recommendations for pairs the sandwich with a drink. The dessert was a condensed milk base with various nuts and orange guava sauce on top- simply but delicious!

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of my meal. I had the plantain bandera and it was so tasty! My partner ordered the beef plantain sandwich. We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes away from home. We love this restaurant and will continue to visit.

Delicious chicken plantain sandwich and super friendly bright server. It was really quiet on a Tuesday evening but service was quick and everything tasted very fresh. The churros were piping hot and the perfect texture. Would definitely return and recommend.

Our server was incredibly warm, kind and attentive. The ambience was very quiet on a Tuesday evening, and the food tasted delicious and fresh. If you like plantain and latin type ingredients - think black beans, pulled meat, crema, feta, onions, and ribbon veggies - you have to try Plantain Cartel's patacones. And if you don't think you're a fan of this type of food, try it anyway - you'll be converted. The patacones have been on my list for years - ever since they were offered at Soca and before Plantain Cartel had their own restaurant, and I'm glad that it's everything I expected. I would definitely return.
