The place looks nice enough. Waitresses were polite and helpful. A group of men were speaking very loudly in the corner...perhaps providing a realistic Georgian atmosphere.
But, the food did not live up to our expectations and hopes...and food is the most important part of the restaurant. The chicken shashlik was very greasy and somehow stringy and just off in taste. The pork shaslik was mostly gristle and fat. Fortunately, the bread was good, but it is hard to mess up fresh bread.

The lady serving me was very nice, quick, and helpful.
The food came out fast, hot, and fresh.
And it was gone from my plate in a heartbeat :( should’ve savoured it some more
Reminded me of things my mom cooks, in the best way.
Don’t be afraid to try it, but maybe stay away from the tripe if you’re not an adventurous eater :)

Excellent restaurant with delicious food. The menu has a lot of meet options, pastries with cheese, soups, salads and deserts. The Kharcho soup is perfect for a cold day and very filling. Did like the lamb skewer as much as I thought but enjoyed the lunch all together. Would likely come back to try some of the other dishes. Decor is nice

We came to Sarko Restaurant for dinner with friends. We had tried this place a few years ago and everything was good back then, so we decided to give it another visit.
This time we ordered hinkali and ajaruli. The ajaruli was good, but the hinkali were a bit disappointing — there wasn’t enough cilantro inside. They used to put much more before, but now it feels like they’re saving on it.
We also took a salad with walnut sauce. In every other restaurant in Georgia the walnut sauce is already included in this type of salad, but here they charge extra for it, which is strange because this sauce is part of the original recipe. There’s no point in paying extra for something that should be there by default.
Next, we ordered pork shashlik, but it wasn’t cooked properly — it was still bloody inside, so we had to return it.
We also ordered eggplant rolls with cream cheese, and that dish also missed the mark. There was barely any cream cheese inside; it was mostly just soaked, overly moist eggplant, which wasn’t pleasant.
Unfortunately, after this experience, I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
