We came to Sarko Restaurant for dinner with friends. We had tried this place a few years ago and everything was good back then, so we decided to give it another visit.
This time we ordered hinkali and ajaruli. The ajaruli was good, but the hinkali were a bit disappointing — there wasn’t enough cilantro inside. They used to put much more before, but now it feels like they’re saving on it.
We also took a salad with walnut sauce. In every other restaurant in Georgia the walnut sauce is already included in this type of salad, but here they charge extra for it, which is strange because this sauce is part of the original recipe. There’s no point in paying extra for something that should be there by default.
Next, we ordered pork shashlik, but it wasn’t cooked properly — it was still bloody inside, so we had to return it.
We also ordered eggplant rolls with cream cheese, and that dish also missed the mark. There was barely any cream cheese inside; it was mostly just soaked, overly moist eggplant, which wasn’t pleasant.
Unfortunately, after this experience, I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

Absolutely amazing experience! This Georgian restaurant is a hidden gem! The food was beyond delicious — every single dish tasted homemade and full of authentic flavor. The khachapuri was perfectly cheesy, the khinkali were juicy and fresh, and the meats were tender and full of spice. You can really tell they cook with love and tradition.
The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly — they made us feel like family. Even the presentation of the food was beautiful. If you’ve never tried Georgian cuisine before, this is THE BEST place to start. And if you already love it, you’ll be amazed at how authentic everything tastes. I’ll definitely be coming back soon 100% recommend! ❤️🇬🇪

We were from out of town, in Markham for hockey. There was 5 of us, 2-12year old boys and no reservation on a Saturday, prime dinner time. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated. Our waitress was very lovely and assured us that they had fries for the boys! We’ve never experienced traditional Georgian food before. We had no idea what to expect after ordering. Our food came quickly, hot and soooooo delicious!!!! Our 2 picky boys devoured their fries, cheesy sticks and cheesy pizza!! They even tried some of our meals and liked them too. Highly recommend!!! If we are ever near Markham/Vaughn again we will be back!!! 5 STARS!!!

As someone who goes to Tbilisi every year, I enjoy eating here. Tastes like home, megrelian twist on food so it’s a bit “spicy” but it’s delicious. Very hospitable owner and always a good time

That was my first time at this place and I loved everything. Great service, quite authentic decor, creative food and drinks presentation, awesome taste. The portions were generous and everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. Great job guys!

This was special! I had not ever had this kind of cuisine, and it landed well with me! Amazing soups, fresh bread, skewars, and sides. All amazing.. Topped off with a Turkish coffee, it was awesome.

Food was absolutely delicious, we got the shish kebab, traditional cheese pastry, and harcho soup. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The ambiance and decoration was very nice. And the service was excellent. This is a great traditional Georgian restaurant and we will definitely be going back again.
