Changed the recipe of the calamari. I feel it was the same for years but I went yesterday and it wasn’t flaky like expected but more like a tight batter, it was kinda rubbery.Disappointed because I felt I knew what to expect and it was different, when I asked the server she was very condescending.Did not enjoy this experience.

We just had lunch. I’ll breakdown the dishes, service and my overall impression and come to a conclusion.We had 3 dishes …I had the Salmone e Asiago. While I’m not a fan of risotto, this risotto was filled with little pieces of shrimp which was a delightful surprise. I liked it! Plus, the salmon was encrusted with a light layer of bread crumbs and Asiago cheese. It was tasty. I received a bit of veggie, carrots & zuchinni. My only preference would have been to include the salmon skin for the extra omega 3s and some extra crunch but, as is common in North American cuisine, nobody wants to do the extra work and descale the fish. My only small pet peeve and frankly I’m not targeting Just Cooking. Many, many places do this. Even many grocery stores won’t descale and, left to our own devices, we throw the skin out rather than descale. But I digress!My Mom ordered the “Fish soup”. While not on the menu, it’s served as a “Special” and is well known among the locals. They accommodated us and prepared it with plenty of fish and a good variety of vegetables. She really enjoyed it.My Sweetie order the Penne special. Her review is separate. She loved it.We ordered one tiramasu because they said “it’s big”. It was “big” and, as a dude in his 50s, I can’t see eating this by myself anymore and maintaining my svelte figure! Haha … it was delish!Service was cheerful. The ladies tried to please.Overall, I was surprised. Generally, I find restaurants outside Toronto are less competitive. They charge more for less. Was that the case here? No! For $30-$40 a plate at a full service restaurant outside Toronto, it seemed reasonable and it was tasty. They tried and did a good job. Can we ask for more?Just one last small request. Warm up the starter bread. “You don’t get a 2ⁿᵈ chance to make a good 1ˢᵗ impression.” Many places don’t. Here’s your chance to “stand out among the crowd”! ?

Just cooking …Delicious! Elegant! Sumptuous!It’s excellent fine dining for any occasion!I had the pasta dish “Special of the day” w/salmon and shrimp in creamy wine sauce. It was an absolute delight when it arrived: lots of salmon pieces, good size shrimp and a light creamy wine sauce! Everything cooked to perfection!My hubby had the Salmon Risotto in creamy sauce which was beautifully presented and tasteful! The risotto was cooked with tiny pieces of shrimp! It was delectable!I would say the best of the 3 dishes was my mother-in-law’s dish: fish soup! Her local hair dresser recommended it as a “must”. It wasn’t on the menu and after our server consulted with the kitchen, they delighted her by granted our request.That dish, it truly is “a must to try”! It came with a huge bowl full of seafood and vegetables! Mussels, shrimp, salmon, baby potatoes, spinach, carrots, you name it and it was topped with a fillet of crispy pickerel!Now come to desserts: they have wide array of French and Italian: crème brûlée, tiramisu, cheesecakes, etc. We had the tiramisu, which came in a huge serving and we shared that among the three of us! It’s creamy, “coffeey” and chocolatey!A delicious and satisfying end to the meal!Highly recommend!

Very disappointed.Fish and chips were $40.The server never mentioned the prices of the “special” and when asked about it said “I don’t make the prices”.As we were walking out our waitress’s complained about us to the other employees over a glass of wine at the bar.Disgraceful for a small town establishment and will not be returning.

Met up with friends today and had a wonderful lunch at Just Cooking! Started off with the daily soup and pate´. Delicious! Following our appetizers we had spaghettini con gamberoni e molluschi, spaghettini polpett and the daily fish special. Large portions and beautifully presented. We, of course, saved room for the tiramisu, creme brûlée and the chocolate torte. Fantastic way to end a fabulous lunch! Wonderful friendly service made our lunch date! We'll definitely return.

We did our dinner for civil ceremony with just cooking. Miranda and her team were fantastic they were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The communication and planning of our special day was easy and with Miranda’s quick responses and helpfulness there was zero stress.The food and room we were in were amazing we were over the moon with how it all turned out. Thank you all again for a night to remember.

Good service and a pleasant atmosphere, but the food quality is lacking. Honestly surprised at the number of positive reviews here. We had rubber chicken, tasteless mushrooms, oversalted soup, every single dish was upsetting. Except for the olive oil for the bread basket, that was excellent.
