AGHA Restaurant Waterloo

Last night, I visited Aga Restaurant for their Ramadan buffet with my wife and two kids, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

From the beginning, the food was not up to standard. Many items were cold and burnt, and several dishes were either empty or not being refilled on time. It felt disorganized and poorly managed, especially during such a busy time like Ramadan.

We also tried the cake, which honestly tasted very bad and did not seem fresh at all.

What concerns me the most is that after eating there, my entire family, including my kids, is feeling unwell. I cannot say for certain what caused it, but it is very worrying and added to our negative experience.

Overall, we spent around $50 per person and it did not feel worth it at all. I was really looking forward to a good experience, but this was far from it.

Very disappointed.

We ordered künefe. The cheese inside turned out to be a very thick slice of a strong-smelling village cheese. When we cut into the dessert to eat it, we saw that the cheese had not melted at all and had a strong odor. We even heated it in the microwave to try to melt it, but the smell became even stronger, and we ended up throwing it away without eating it. I think you should review the type of cheese you are using.

I'm usually not a very negative person on reviewing restaurants, but I'd never return to this place. The inside is designed nicely, but we were blasted with cold air during our meal. The service wasn't great either. It took a long time for someone to visit us to order and then we waited even longer for the food to come. The food was not hot by the time it came to us either and the meat was not consistently cooked.

We did not try the buffet, so we are not sure what the experience is like, but the sitdown was not worth the $70ish I paid for 2.

Food is quite good, portions very reasonable, main course leaves some room for dessert and nans. Service is there but I believe they may be short staffed at the day I get there, at time hard to get service but overall positive experience.

We went there for iftar buffet, the food was cold, the chicken wings were practically raw which is a big food safety hazard. Please save your money, they don’t give you your money’s worth. The iftar buffet is not worth it at all!

WARNING: We were told that tap water was unavailable by instruction from their manager without further explanation and that we would be given bottled water instead. We were charged for the bottled water which is pretty shady.

The service is also very slow from seating to serving.

Some diners were seated at tables with broken overhead lights as well.

The food is still solid but this place has gone downhill massively in the past few months.

Tabo was the sweetest and most attentive server. The food was great. Came around 9 but the food was still delicious and they didnt rush us even though they closed at 10. Highly recommend coming here!

It is one of my favourite places in KW. Love the ambiance, service, and quality of food.

Naile was very welcoming and I recommend to gave it a try.
