Plenty of tables including big window seats if you want to people-watch. Comfortable seating and quiet atmosphere makes it the perfect place to work on your laptop. Never seems to be busy either so seats are always free.
The owner and her employee are both sweet and friendly. Food and baked goods are decent in taste/price for a cafe, but their coffee is really top-notch. The milk foam on their cappacinos/lattes are like a layer of velvet... Don't know how they do that.

Came across this hidden cafe and it was amazing. The owner was incredibly sweet and accommodating. The food and service were excellent. It is a bit on the pricey side, and the chalkboard menu had some inaccurate prices, but overall it’s a lovely spot with comfortable seating. I will definitely be coming back.

I popped into Café 22 to buy some desserts for my family this past Thursday and had the loveliest experience here! I chatted with who I assume was the owner about one of my keychains, and the staff behind the counter was very patient with my indecisiveness. I ordered 5 treats and the owner kindly threw in 2 extra free of charge! I wish I took a picture of the lovely box they made up for me, but I can tell you that it was all delicious! I highly recommend stopping by this peaceful spot in the heart of Uptown Waterloo :)

Cafe 22 is my favourite place to go for coffee, a light lunch and/or dessert in the Waterloo Region. The ambiance is reminiscent of a European café - relaxed and cozy. The coffee is rich, the sandwiches are delicious and the desserts are decadent. Daniella the owner and her staff are welcoming, attentive and efficient. I am so happy to have this little gem in my area and look forward to every visit.

I love this place! Daniela is a wonderful human being and she has stayed true to the vision she created over the years. I used to come here in my university days to write my papers, 10 yrs later, now I come here during my work hours wether to pick up a quick sweet treat, coffee or lunch. I would 1000% recommend this cafe to anyone, whether you want to sit and slow down in busy life, or you need a quick something to go!

Such genuine service is so hard to find these days. The space is comfortable and a great place to hangout—no wobbly hard chairs. She truly cares about her customers comfort and enjoyment.

Café 22 has quickly become one of my favorite spots for both relaxing and working. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and welcoming — perfect whether you’re meeting a friend or diving into a book with a latte.
Their espresso is rich and smooth, and the food is made with care. I tried their sandwiches and a dessert, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. What really stood out to me was the service — warm, attentive, and genuine.
If you’re looking for a café that feels like a second home, with quality drinks and food to match, Café 22 is definitely worth the visit. I’ll absolutely be coming back!
