Disappointing to walk over when it is apparently open (9:34AM on Friday) but then find out it is closed. Not sure if this is an isolated incident and perhaps the food and service are amazing and that’s why I’m giving it 2 stars.

Went here for a lunch date with a girlfriend and was really disappointed. We were expecting menu items that we saw on the website and were disappointed as it was not the same and the quality was subpar. There were food items in the display case that were very clearly sourced from Costco - I understand this is in a university district & in order to appeal to students items need to be priced fairly but it just made the establishment feel very low quality and lacked any merit. Additionally, the atmosphere was pretty depressing, it’s a close comparison being a liminal space back room with dining seating. On the exterior, there are also 3 names for this establishment - Cafe Maison, Coffee Cave and f.r.i.e.n.d.s. I’m not even sure Cafe Maison exists and was replaced with f.r.i.e.n.d.s? Would not return, the clarity and misdirection of what this business actually is turned me away.

Went on a date with my wife here today. They have typical breakfast food and also Indian food. Best chutney I’ve ever had and their croissants were extremely delicious. Service was exceptional as well. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I stopped by this cafe for the first time and had a great experience! Unfortunately, they don’t have iced coffee yet but the manager (or owner?) recommended their Chai Latte and I loved it! The service was great; you can tell they care about their customers! :)

I come to this place often to study and have given it many chances but I have to say that it has disappointed me one two many times. The cleanliness is nonexistent. Every single time I use the washroom, it’s filthy. The garbages all across the cafe are always overflowing. I don’t think the dining room has ever been swept properly. I have ordered an iced matcha multiple times and every time it comes back grainy and overpowered as it is not mixed properly. After getting disappointed with matcha so many times, I tried an iced chai, which was also made terribly.This place has a lot of potential but things need to be fixed to have happy customers. I really enjoy this spot to study but I have found that I don’t want to order anything anymore and I can’t stay for too long because the filth is so disturbing. The only saving grace is that the employees are very friendly.

When I saw the menu I initially thought “oh that looks a bit confused”. There seemed to be “oh well try some Belgian and Italian”. Limited cocktails too. Well possibly because I always look for espresso martinis. Ho hum. But let’s get to the matter in hand. I went for classic gar prawns scampis à l’ail and they were absolutely perfect and tasty. Not the normal puddle of garlic butter. No more refined. Perfect! As a main course I went for a risotto lightly curried with more prawns. It was a really pleasant surprise. Nothing to criticise. Absolutely loved it. I’ve never spotted this restaurant from when I drive this road but am so happy to have given it a whirl. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. To use the classic (lack of imagination) Tripadvisor term……”I’ll definitely be going back”

Went there with two of my friends and ordered three drinks and three wraps and it took them forever to prepare our orders. We were so frustrated with their delay that instead of our initial plan which was dine-in, after 30minutes or so, we decided to leave (waited for our wraps to be ready and then grabbed those and left). Our drinks were okay except for one of my friends who ordered a peppermint tea with sugar and milk and got hers without those. And a few other bad experiences that are going to stop us from going there another time. I'll check the reviews and if they improve, will give them another shot in a couple months and update my review accordingly.

I have no idea how this place has 4.8 stars. The inside looks like a liminal space, the coffee is the most watery garbage ive had from a coffee shop, and the food is store bought grocery store quality which would be okay if the rest wasn't so bad. Just go to the tims in the wlu science building across the street.

I can't say enough positive things about my experiences at this cafe! I walk in, I'm greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious baked treats. The quality of both the coffee and the baked goods is consistently top-notch.One of the highlights of visiting this cafe is the manager, Meaghan. Her cheerful and helpful demeanor truly enhances the overall experience. It's clear that she takes pride in her role and genuinely cares about the satisfaction of the customers.I also appreciate the reasonable prices for such high-quality offerings. The menu boasts a variety of delicious food options that cater to different tastes, and the value for the price is exceptional.In conclusion, this cafe consistently delivers an outstanding experience. From the great coffee and baked treats to the incredible staff led by Meaghan, it's a gem in every sense.If you're looking for a place with excellent food, friendly service, and a welcoming ambiance, this is the spot for you. I can't recommend it enough!
