When we arrived we were seated right away and served right away. We hit our soup and salad starters and then it seemed within 5 minutes they came out with our main courses. We hadn't even finished our soup and salads. Otherwise it was a good experience. We really enjoy eating at East Sides and come in from out of town to go to this location .

Good food. Really like the all you can eat soup, salad and garlic bread with an entree. Lots of choices for the entrees, and we typically have a hard time deciding. Try to pick 5 favourites, then chip away at the list until you're down to 1. Or if you can't decide, the sampler platter is a good choice. Decent prices and they give a CAA discount and Scene+ points. Can be a bit noisy as that is the design of ESM's . It's supposed to be an Italian community setting so it's fairly open. The patio is usually less noisy.

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Amber J at East Side Mario’s Waterloo Tuesday evening, and she truly made our night! From the moment we were seated, Amber was warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, checked in at just the right times, and made great recommendations (we highly suggest the primavera with goat cheese if you're undecided!).
What stood out most was her genuine kindness—she treated us like friends, not just customers. Even during a busy dinner rush, Amber kept everything running smoothly with a big smile on her face. It's rare to come across service this thoughtful and professional. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Amber J by name!

This is te best place to eat Italian food! Very busy but food is coming fast! If you want to make sure you have a table, make a reservation! Last night, our server Madison was amazing!

Overall not a terrible experience. Regardless of having a reservation, the hostess was not around to check us in. I also feel the server could improve on communication as she only stopped at our table once during the entire (although moderately short) evening. My boyfriend ordered the bacon carbonara and lost his appetite a few bites in as the bacon was significantly undercooked. At the time of asking for our bill the waitress asked if we would like boxes, to which we replied no we're okay, and as there was still a fair amount of food on our plates you would think she would've inquired about how everything was or if there were any quality issues, to which she didn't. Overall, would likely not come back to this location, but the staff did their best.

Extremely unsavoury experience. We waited 15 minutes for any server to come by. When she did, she dropped off bread, never introduced herself and vanished. Another 10 minutes go by, asked for manager. Table seated 5 minutes after us walked out. Manager came over, no apology, explained waitress was having difficulty.... Manger took our drink and food order, food delivered by another person. Server finally came over.. apologized for mishap.. still unclear what issue was, eventually received bill. We will not be back. Figure out how to manage staff and restaurant operations.

It was my birthday, i had decided to take me and my friends there, our waitress Tamara was very rude. She stereotyped my whole friend group about the payment methods and gave us one plate for a group of six for appetizers. She didn't provide the basics of waitressing there, like refillling our drinks and providing straws and grating cheese on our food. We had to ask for it although the other tables she had served were given it right away. She had rushed everyone and threw the takeout boxes on the tables. She was very uninterested when a friend had mentioned my birthday and was only being genuine when we complained to the manager.
