Gyubee Japanese Grill (Waterloo)

Meat dishes were good quality, fresh and well seasoned. Spinach and tofu side dishes were a delight. Rice cake a bit of bland. Dessert options not as many as the Toronto locations. Staff was friendly. Overall positive dining experience.

Site says it opens at 11:30, The sticker on the door says 11:30, but when we got there it was locked and lights off. We then called and there was a recording saying they were closed. Then we checked Google and it said 12pm. Seriously?

I visited Gyubee Japanese Grill in Waterloo for lunch today and opted for their all-day menu, which offered a wide range of grill options. While the variety was impressive, I found the pricing for kids to be quite unreasonable. Even for adults, the overall cost seemed high compared to other similar dining experiences.

During our meal, we encountered an issue with two of the meat plates that had strands of hair on them. This appeared to be a hygiene oversight, possibly because none of the staff had their hair covered. I raised the concern with the manager, who responded promptly and addressed the situation. I also suggested that employees handling food and interacting with customers should wear hair coverings to avoid such problems in the future.

Overall, while Gyubee wasn’t a bad experience, it didn’t quite match up to my expectations. Personally, I still prefer the Korean BBQ restaurant located in the same area, which offers better value for the quality and price.

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The food was high quality and delicious while the service exceeded our expectations. We opted for the all day menu and we are glad we did as the selections were excellent. Food started arriving to our table within 30 seconds of ordering and service remained quick and consistent throughout. We felt as though we could eat at a comfortable pace within the seating time limit.
Service went above and beyond as we never waited long for any of our selections, extra water or dessert. They even changed our grill multiple times to make sure it stayed clean and nothing stuck. We would highly recommend this dining experience to anyone looking for something different and delicious. We will definitely be back!

I had a great time at Gyubee Japanese Grill in Waterloo. The meats were fresh and tasty, and grilling at the table was fun. Our server, Ivy, was super friendly and made sure we got everything we needed quickly.

The sides, like kimchi and salad, were good too. Overall, it’s a fun spot with good food, and Ivy’s service made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend it!
