Ordered the family halibut meal for takeout yesterday. The staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. Very fresh, hot, and crispy. Huge portions of fish with perfect batter and really really good coleslaw. I'll definitely be back and recommend this place for dine in or takeout.

We have been twice to the Halibut house. They serve GREAT fish and chips of all sorts. Strangely enough tho, their Greek salad is one of the BEST I've ever had in a restaurant. I ordered it both times along with the fish and chips as a combo and it was delicious. We went with a bigger crowd the second time and some tried their chowder and shared calamari as starters and were enjoyed by everyone. The staff are great and accommodating. Service was quick and food was hot. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant.

Just had lunch at the Waterloo location. I have eaten here quite often and it has always been excellent. Today I decided to order sweet potato fries instead of regular chips. The were very dark and after tasting them I had to call the waitress and tell her they tasted burnt and asked if she could bring me regular chips...these were so pale and didn't taste as good as usual. The fish looked good but was dry...not like I usually get. When the bill arrived I had to point out she was charging me $3 extra for the sweet potato fries that I couldn't eat. She apologized and changed it. The cook should never had plated the sweet potato fries and the waitress should have refused to serve them and asked for them to be redone. I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

Generally good fish and chips, had one order that was over cooked, but we eat here once a week and enjoy.

Food order all incorrect, with exception of one of my employees. Then came the cold food. Server tried to place blame on client, rather than making it right. No discount, or dessert offered and wanted the full amount to be paid. This one in Waterloo seems to have problems. AppointmentDo not go to this location. Food is decent, but this is the second time we were given attitude by a server. We are banning this store

Great Fish and Chips place -- it's a bit pricey, but you get a great meal and a lot of food. Well worth it.
